I'm Ingrid, the owner and designer of Alaska Daisy. So glad you are visiting my little corner of the Etsy marketplace.
My family and I are recent transplants to the great state of Alaska and are thoroughly enjoying the rugged natural beauty and friendly people. Our three amazing sons are thrilled with all the outdoor pursuits. And the long summer daylight hours, not to mention the long, dark winters, have both spurred me to revisit a passion I've had for years... designing and making colorful, wearable jewelry.
My style is contemporary, colorful and varied. I like to try new designs and techniques, and enjoy mixing metals and gemstones in unique combinations. The assembly-line is not for me! • Your package should be mailed via the USPS, First Class with tracking. Untracked packages - lost packages - packages I do not receive - will not be refunded - no exceptions
• Contact me via Etsy convo only, not email, as that is the most reliable method and allows me to link it to your purchase
• Shipping fees (both ways) are non-refundable and remain buyer's cost
• Once the item has been received in a timely manner, in its original condition, the refund will be issued, minus any original shipping charges you may have paid, along with a 10% restocking fee.

Handmade jewelry is delicate and does require a degree of care on the part of the user. Please note that any material is subject to wear and tear over time. Additionally, body chemistry varies and can have a significant affect on jewelry metals, including sterling silver and gold fill. Happily, sterling silver and 14K gold filled jewelry do not contain nickel and are considered hypoallergenic.
If you receive your item and are unhappy with it, please be kind and do not leave negative feedback. Contact me and we'll work it out so you DO walk away a happy customer. No one wants a bad experience, right?

*You don't need a PayPal account to pay via PayPal.* The PayPal payment option also allows for the use of major debit & credit cards, as well as your PayPal account if you have one. Just choose the PayPal button at checkout to take advantage of this option.
Etsy handles all payment transactions. I do not see your billing information as it is secured with Etsy.

Great! Please make sure to use it when you place your order, as they can't be back dated or applied after checkout. The code must be entered at checkout, in the field that says, "Add a gift card or coupon code." Discounts cannot be applied to custom orders.
Standard shipping is via the US Postal Service First Class mail - all packages include a tracking/confirmation number. First Class shipping in the US is $4.50. Your order will arrive in a carefully packaged gift box, padded within a bubble mailer.
*First Class transit time within the U.S. generally takes about 3-6 days for packages to reach their destination. * see below

I ship orders within 1-3 days of your order and payment, (usually the next day), and do not charge to ship additional items. Custom orders will take a bit longer to prepare and you will receive an estimate of that time at checkout.
Shipping upgrades available at checkout:
PRIORITY FLAT RATE - SMALL BOX adds $5.50 to First Class, for a total of $10.00, and has a 1-3 day shipping estimate by the USPS (not guaranteed).
PRIORITY MAIL EXPRESS - FLAT RATE ENVELOPE - $29.50, with a 2 day delivery (guaranteed by the USPS).
INSURANCE FOR DOMESTIC MAIL:
First Class packages are not insured. USPS insurance is included up to $100 on every Priority Mail package. Please contact me if you would like your order insured further. All packages have tracking and delivery confirmation regardless of the value of the package.
ADDRESS AND DELIVERY
Purchases will be shipped to the address you have on file with Etsy, unless you request a different address in Message to Seller when you check out. I am happy to send your gift item directly to the recipient, provided you let me know the information at check out.
*There will be no refund, exchanges, cancellations or replacements for packages that are shipped to the incorrect address due to customer error.* If package is returned to me, it will be the customer's responsibility to supply the seller with the correct shipping address, and customer pays to reship the returned order.
PLEASE NOTE: I use delivery confirmation on all US packages. If it scans as delivered, I do not provide refunds. Once it leaves my hands at the Post Office with the delivery confirmation label on it, I am not responsible for the item or items. The customer has the responsibility to insure that the shipping address provided will be a secure location for delivery.
INCORRECT ADDRESS & UNDELIVERABLE PACKAGES
• Please double check your address before and after placing an order. Made an error? Contact me immediately.
• Addresses may not be changed once an order has been shipped.
• Packages that are lost in shipment due to an incorrect address will be buyer’s responsibility and will not be refunded.
• Packages that are returned based on incorrect or undeliverable address will be shipped back out once buyer pays reshipment fee.
For packages that didn't arrive in time for the gifting event: I ship out every order on time and it's out of my control once I drop it off at the post office. But I understand how frustrating this can be. Suggestion: Print out the receipt or image of the items you bought and present it with a cute card. Now your recipient has something to look forward to!
If you would like "signature upon receipt" for your package, please let me know. If you live in an area where you are concerned about having a package left unattended, I highly recommend signature-required delivery. Again, if your package scans as delivered, I do not provide refunds.
I ship to selected countries via United States Postal Service International First Class Mail.
*Effective October 17, 2018, my shipping fees for International packages have increased in order to provide tracking and insurance on every package. Shipping charges do not cover customs or import duties assessed by your country. Please see below.

CUSTOMS AND DUTY CHARGES
Most packages go through without any extra charges, but it can be somewhat randomly applied. These are NOT extra shipping charges and, if they are assessed, are the buyer's responsibility. Buyers are responsible for knowing their country's customs regulations and for paying any applicable fees/VAT. Customs forms will be marked as "Beaded Jewelry," for example, or "Chain Bracelet," and not "Gift." It is illegal to ask the seller to lower or misrepresent the value of a package to avoid Duty Tax.
**IMPORTANT FOR UK BUYERS! Customer is ENTIRELY responsible for all custom fees, import duties, and taxes, should these be imposed. If the customer refuses their package because they do not want to pay customs taxes and fees, or customs refuses delivery due to restrictions, no refunds or replacement/exchange of product is granted - no exceptions.

Once I've shipped your package, I can't do anything with it once it's in the hands of customs officials and your country's postal service.

GIFT PACKAGING AND SHIPPING
All orders come carefully packaged in a kraft jewelry box, with daisy detail and a cheery yellow ribbon. I am happy to send your gift item directly to the recipient's address, provided you let me know the information at check out. A handwritten message can be included as well, if you let me know what you'd like to say on the note.
Multiple pieces will be wrapped together in the same gift box; UNLESS you ask me to wrap them separately.
NO WORRIES GIFT POLICY: I accept exchanges up to 2 weeks after delivery date, for any purchase with the note GIFT in checkout notes *or* a convo *before or AT the time of purchase* indicating that it is a GIFT. If there is no such note, then my standard 7 days after purchase return policy applies.
I usually do not include a printed receipt unless you require one. International packages will include a receipt for customs purposes.
I use delivery confirmation on all US packages. ***If it scans as delivered, I do not provide refunds.*** Once it leaves my hands at the Post Office, with the delivery confirmation label on it, I am not responsible for the item or items. To reiterate: I cannot send a duplicate package if the delivery confirmation shows the package was delivered to a confirmed address. Accidents happen! Should your AlaskaDaisy piece ever need repair, please contact me via an Etsy convo. Repairs older than 60 days of purchase may require a small fee.

Additional policies and FAQs
What is Gold Filled?
Unlike it sounds, it is not gold on the inside. In actuality, a solid 14K gold sheet is mechanically bonded with heat and pressure to both sides of a brass base. Gold filled is legally required to contain 5% or 1/20 gold by weight. (This is hundreds of times thicker than gold plating which will scrape off rather easily. Gold plating is estimated to be about 0.05% or less of the metal product.)
High quality gold filled metal has the same appearance as 14 karat (58%) gold and, if properly cared for, will last for years. Gold-filled jewelry is usually a lifetime product, because the gold layer bonded to the brass core is quite thick. It is very hard wearing and, under normal conditions, should last a lifetime. It requires only light surface cleaning with an untreated cloth or mild soapy water. I use only 14K gold filled chain and components for my gold jewelry, sourced from either Italy or the United States.
Rose gold filled does tarnish slightly faster than most other gold alloys because of the high copper content. A jewelry cleaning cloth will easily remove the tarnish from this popular and beautiful finish.
Please handle and treat handmade jewelry with care, as it can be fragile. I recommend not sleeping, going to the gym, swimming, showering, etc., while wearing handcrafted pieces. Also, please keep in mind that chains are not elastic - using the clasp to don and doff your pieces will avoid stretching the links and weakening them.
Sterling silver will normally tarnish when exposed to air; this is a normal occurrence and can be cleaned, if desired, with a soft jewelry polishing cloth. Gemstones can fracture if treated roughly, so do your best not to plunk them down onto your bathroom counter or into the bottom of your purse (voice of experience here...) For gold-filled items, please see above.
Anti-tarnish/jewelry polishing cloths are available for purchase in my shop, and can also be found at most major retailers.
All earrings come with latex-free rubber clutches to secure your new treasures.
All photographs are taken by me, using natural daylight, unless specified otherwise. Please be aware that monitors and smartphones do display colors and lighting in their own unique way, and yours may be very different from mine. If you ever have a question about an item, or would like an extra photo or two, please do not hesitate to ask.
Please note that jewelry is, by nature, rather small! And you are seeing these images magnified on a screen, my having employed a zoomed-in perspective in order to best show the details. ITEMS ARE SMALLER THAN THEY APPEAR. Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to shout. :o) I use my hand, or a coin, for reference in many photos, and I always include very detailed measurements for each piece. Again, if you ever have a question about an item, or would like more images or details, please message me.
Organic gemstones and pearls will normally have slight inclusions and imperfections due to their nature. Gemstones are hand cut, drilled, polished, etc., so they will not be absolutely flawless or symmetrical. I try to match stones and pearls as closely as possible for size, shape and color. All variations, spots, and inclusions are part of the stones' natural beauty and a sure sign of their authenticity.
