I like the design but the ring is too small. I am keeping it because the price was exceptional. I guess you truly get what you pay for. I am also keeping it because the designer quickly responded to my request for a smaller size. The custom ring was ready within 24 hours, I really appreciated that.

I was raised by a carpenter and a seamstress. Working with my hands is in my blood. All the way back to a master armorer in St. Malo France, back in the late 1600s. My love of creating truly comes from a need to do it. If I'm not making something, I'm like a boat without a rudder.
Ever since I was a little girl I was fascinated with faerie tales and fantasy. But I was 14 years old when I became truly entrenched in that world while reading The Hobbit, laying on a blanket under the sweeping branches of a willow tree at our family cottage on the St. Lawrence River. So I always live with one foot in the real world and one foot in the world of faeries, hobbits and wizards.
Whether it was drawing, decorating my bedroom as a teenager, or embellishing my favorite faded blue jeans with embroidery and fabric, I have always been creating in some way, shape or form. In 1996, I taught myself how to beadweave and that was my introduction into this current passion---jewelry designing and making.
Since then I have learned many other techniques and often combine them together to create something completely and utterly unique and original. While most designers have a vision of what their creation will ultimately look like, my work evolves from an inspiration. Whether it is some color combination I run across, a branch I find on my walks or a reclaimed vintage piece of jewelry. Even better when I can incorporate an item that has been discarded but can be given new life in a new setting. So I begin with that inspiration and just start working and more often than not, I don't quite know how the finished creation will look. Until it is finished. Sometimes it even becomes something totally different than my original idea. It may start out as an earring and it turns into a pendant. Or a necklace develops into a bracelet.
I also do not work with only one medium. I love working with wire, upcycled sari silk ribbon, decoupage, beads and anything else that can give my work originality. This is why I have so many different types of jewelry styles in my collection. The common thread that connects them all is a romantic and bohemian free spirit.
(free spirit: n. One who is not restrained, as by convention or obligation; a nonconformist)
It is that free spirit infused into each and every piece I create. My hope is that you will let your free spirit reign when you wear a Durango Rose creation.

Custom and personalized orders
If you have a custom request, I will work with you to create a piece of jewelry that is made just for you. For custom work I do require half of the payment at the time work begins and the remaining half at the time of purchase.
My product listings have very clear and concise sizing information in my product listings. It greatly helps for an accurate fit when you take your own measurements and match them to the sizes listed.
All of my wirework has been tumbled for high shine and sealed with two layers of Renaissance Wax to protect the finish. If you properly store your items in a jewelry box or drawer, avoiding them to be touching or tossed with other items, do not wear your item swimming or showering, the shiny finish will last a long time.
My wire crochet should always be laid flat, never creased. The cuffs can be clasped and stored standing. My crochet faerie bell earrings should be hung from an earring tree or laid flat, never crushed.
Decoupage cuffs are finished with a nontoxic sealant that is water resistant. If water comes in contact with the finish, simply wipe off with a soft cloth. But they should never be worn in the shower or swimming
