5 out of 5 starsMy mother loved the ornament. Has a very unique glow when light is shined through it. Pictures don't do this thing justice.

Artist's Statement
I began my relationship with melting things at a very young age. Having grown up in Montana, I spent a lot of time sitting around campfires as a child. Endlessly poking away at the fire with a stick, I’d observe reactions to the heat from different materials. I would watch old bottles melt into the campfire coals and learned how to forge crude knives from scrap metal foraged from my dad’s shop. After seeing someone blow glass in person for the first time as a teenager, I was inspired to build a small studio in my brother’s garden shed in 2001 and began endless hours of practice. In 2004, I moved to Seattle seeking to learn more about glass. I took classes, learned from different artists, and worked part time for several local glass blowers. For the next few years, I filled my time teaching flame working classes at Pratt Fine Art Center, renting studio time there and working in various hot shops. In 2008, I took the opportunity to work for an architectural lighting firm. I spent the next nine years working full-time, building and running the glass-blowing department there until my son was born in 2016. I then built a studio so I could work from home and spend more time with my family.
