Beautiful glass - can't wait to use it. I admit I was worried about glass rods coming all the way from Australia, but all was intact and it can way quicker than I had expected. Will post pictures after I make something out of these!

About

Evolve:

[ B e g i n n i n g s ]
I make glass beads and jewellery. I started out making jewellery but rapidly fell in love with hand made beads and wanted to learn how. I took a class in 2006 and have been making beads ever since. I enjoy making art jewellery, lampwork beads and sharing knowledge.

[ T e c h n i q u e ]
Using various jewellery making skills such as, assemblage, mixed media, bead weaving, bead embroidery, cold connection and my own hand made beads I will produce a little work of unique art that can be worn.

[ P h i l o s o p h y ]
My philosophy is to invoke metamorphosis of objects into something meaningful and wearable. I enjoy creating beauty out of basic materials as a form of alchemical magic. I create a series of glass beads and jewellery pieces with a similar theme and that is how I tend to work. I enjoy working thematically as it gives me a chance to explore a colour, design element or technique in great depth.

[ E t s y ]
Most of my jewellery is on display in galleries but I love having a presence on Etsy as it makes me feel connected to other artists around the world. I'm endeavoring to make items "just for Etsy", that is, smaller more versatile pieces that are easier to post than large dramatic bead embroidered jewellery. Sometimes I will list tools and supplies for sale that I can no longer justify hoarding.

I don't take orders for custom lampwork beads, but I do have stock sets that I make to order. Sometimes I will list lampwork beads that don't really fit into a theme or a category. All of my glass beads are annealed in a digital kiln and dremel cleaned.

Hi and welcome to Alchemistress Beads,

I create finished jewellery in eclectic, one of a kind designs. My jewellery is very rarely reproduced because I use vintage, hard to find and artisan handmade components that cannot always be replicated. I do not promote a throwaway society and my jewellery is a reflection of the time and skill needed to create something truly unique.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
☛ Refunds:
Full purchase amount (not shipping costs) will be refunded on return of item (at your own expense) if;

a) The item is substantially different from the photograph (does not include minor colour alterations as this may be due to your monitor) and has been misrepresented by me, the seller.

b) If the item purchased is faulty. This covers actual workmanship, not damage that might be incurred through shipping, extended wear or accident. A faulty item must be reported to me, (the seller) no more than one (1) day after receiving the item through Etsy conversation. I take the report of a faulty item very seriously, nothing leaves my workshop without being tested for wearability and longevity. Workmanship is checked at every stage of the creation process and I stand by the quality of my products.

☛ Exchanges:
I do not exchange or refund purchases if you change your mind, discover the size isn't right or the colour not as expected. Every effort is made to provide you, the buyer with all the details needed to make an informed decision. An exchange will only occur if the item is substantially different from the photograph and has been misrepresented by me, the seller.

☛ Photography:
All jewellery and craft items are photographed under natural light (real or simulated). I post only photos that appear an exact colour match from my monitor to the item at hand. Be aware that your monitor may darken, fade or change colours and appear to make sparkly beads dull. I am not responsible for these changes in appearance and it is not grounds for a refund.

☛ Damages:
The responsibility of the seller extends to careful packaging of your item and directing you, the buyer to purchase insurance for your item if you are spending more than $50.00USD. Jewellery is fragile and even the best packed parcels can be subjected to violent treatment via the postal service. Insuring your item is a guaranteed way of ensuring that any damage caused to your item in transit enables you to receive a full refund from the relevant postal authority.

- If your package arrives torn, shredded/ripped, folded over or crushed please photograph the package before opening it. Once opened if your item is damaged please go directly to your post office and lodge a claim. Your money will not be refunded by me, that is for the postal authority to determine as it is at fault. I highly recommend that you purchase insurance on expensive items.

☛ I do not take responsibility for items lost or damaged in the postal system. Please purchase the relevant postage to ensure piece of mind.
Payment
☛ I accept PayPal only.

☛ I am an authorised PayPal business account holder and I do accept eCheque via PayPal. (Australian Residents this means you can pay via direct deposit using PayPal)

☛ Buyer is to pay all fees and taxes associated with their country and region.

☛ Postage & Handling costs are to be paid by the buyer, they are accurate at time of listing the item.

☛ 3 day cancellation policy applies if payment is not made within 72 hours of checkout. Blacklisting will apply.
Shipping
☛ Address Verification:
If your PayPal shipping address is different from your Etsy shipping address, I will convo you to confirm the correct address. I cannot be held responsible for delays under these circumstances. I post on the same day or the next day the item is ordered (except Saturday after midday and Sunday)

☛ Australian Residents:
Regular postage is charged at the going rate anywhere within Australia. If you wish to purchase express post or registered post please choose that option from the shop. Delivery times vary, please allow 1 week for regular postage outside of metropolitan areas. Registered or Express Post is charged at the current Australian Post rate.
Please purchase the option available in my Etsy shop.

☛ New Zealand Residents:
Please refer to the item listing for Regular Air Mail postage charges. Delivery times vary, please allow up to 2 weeks for regular "air mail" postage delivery.

☛ USA Residents:
Please refer to the item listing for Regular Air Mail postage charges. Delivery times vary, please allow 2 to 4 weeks for regular "air mail" postage delivery.

☛ International Residents (Non NZ, Non USA):
Please refer to the item listing for Regular Air Mail postage charges. Delivery times vary from 2 to 6 weeks for regular "air mail" postage delivery. UK residents usually receive their packages within a fortnight, but most arrive within 7 days. I do not ship to some countries in the EU due to too many "lost parcel" claims.

☛ Registered (Tracked) Parcels for International Residents:
Please 'convo' me for the cost of this option. Due to the limitations of the Etsy shipping and payment module, additional postage charges will be invoiced separately through Paypal. Additional postage charges must be paid within 3 days of checkout. Items will be sent via regular "air mail" post after this time period.

☛ Multiple Items:
Please refer to the item listing for multiple items shipping cost. There is a cost due to the extra packaging and often the extra size of the parcel that is to be sent incurs much higher postage.

☛ Packaging:
Each bead or piece of jewellery is presented in its own little box or organza bag attached with a mini folio documenting the process and theme of the jewellery. All items are then wrapped carefully for shipping. The shipping prices reflect the cost of ensuring that your item arrives safely and in one piece rather than using a cheaper option of putting jewellery without a box into a padded envelope.

☛ I charge a small amount for packaging and handling. Shipping fees are standard Australia Post charges for parcels as at 30 June, 2015.
Additional policies and FAQs
☛ Custom Orders:
I no longer do custom orders

☛ Layaway/Layby:
I do offer this service, please enquire through Etsy conversation before purchase so we can work out incremental costs and time frame.

☛ TLC:
I guarantee that my beads and jewellery is made with strict attention to detail, the finest materials available to me and created with longevity and sustainable wearability in mind. With that said, my jewellery is not impervious to rough treatment, or made to be worn or played with by children.

Care should be taken when wearing handmade jewellery. Do not yank at jewellery that has gotten caught in hair or clothing, gently detangle. Long necklaces can get damaged from banging onto tables and getting caught on door handles, or from children pulling. If you are caught on something, always gently detach yourself.

Do not wear jewellery into chlorinated/fresh or salt water pools/spas. Try not to get hairspray or perfume onto jewellery (should any of these things occur wipe the jewellery down immediately with a cloth dampened in de-mineralised water.) These elements will fade and damage your jewellery, particularly pearls, vintage/antique components, fabric elements and bead woven elements.

Should an accident occur, please convo me so I can assess the damage and quote you a price to fix your jewellery, mail you any matching beads or provide information on how to clean or fix your piece. Any beads, charms and findings that you can rescue or information you can provide about how the damage was incurred will help repair the problem.

☛ Storage:
Store items out of direct sunlight or damp areas in a jewellery box or bag. Knotted pearls and hand woven necklaces should be stored flat and not hung.

☛ Cleaning:
I cannot guarantee that components used in the creation of your new piece of jewellery will be colour-fast. To be on the safe side, only clean jewellery with a lint free, soft dry cloth. For stubborn dirt particles use a cotton bud moistened in Avon Jewellery Cleaner or demineralised water. Try not to soak beaded jewellery, water can stay trapped inside those tiny beads for a long time causing thread to rot.

If your jewellery does get wet, lay flat and allow to dry naturally out of direct sunlight. For heavy water damage, use a hair dryer on a low heat setting and gently dry the piece back and front. Please refer to your individual care information enclosed with your jewellery for further information.

☛ Wholesale:
I do not wholesale my jewellery.
