Excellent quality. Beautifully made.
My story is truly a manifestations of dreams for family, achievement, joy, and love, all coming true.
The birth of my shop could be attributed to a number of different moments in my life. The spark however, would have to be a dream realized by my 11 year old self.
It was spring, and I found myself traveling to attend my oldest brother and his wife's college graduation. They had an almost 1 year old baby girl, and it was so exciting to have them graduating together. But the best part was that all the women in my family had slaved away the night before commencement to make an adorable, little, pink graduation outfit for my niece. Seeing her in that cute graduation gown, I KNEW at that moment, that when I graduated from college, I too would have my child in a mini graduation outfit.
Well, I went on to finish junior high and high school, learning to sew and modify patterns to design my own projects. But alas, by the time I finished college, although I had managed to get married my last semester of school... I GRADUATED WITH NO CHILDREN. Sad yes, but being a few years ahead of my husband in my education I knew we still had hope! Maybe I'd still be able to outfit a child for one of my husband's graduations!
As luck would have it, two years later when my husband received his bachelors we had a beautiful newborn son. But what I didn't realize was how tired and busy I'd be. Having worked right up until his delivery full-time as an RN in the NICU, I just didn't have time to make an outfit! I resolved to just buy one. Surely someone sold them! At that time NO ONE did. I couldn't find one anywhere! Desperate to still have my son in an outfit I spent many nights the few days before commencement devising and modifying a newborn graduation outfit. I finished it just in time and to my joy, my son was a hit at the graduation!
It wasn't until 3 years later that I'd finally start my shop. My mother-in-law wanted me to share my Busy Bag activities with others by selling them on Etsy. I didn't really take the idea seriously until a few days later, which led me to wonder, how would people find my shop? What unique thing did I have to offer?
That unique item finally dawned on me a few days after that as we prepared to attend my sister-in-laws graduation. I remembered my struggles to buy a graduation outfit for my son. I realized that others might want my outfits and to share in the JOY I felt after seeing my own sons and husband all gowned. It was then that I realized this was something unique I could share with others, and I was thrilled!
Now I truly LOVE sharing my creations with others. I can't help but IMAGINE the children and families I design and sell each item to. I am EAGER with joy as I put each package in the post box and filled with HAPPINESS every time a buyer sends me a photo of their child during their time of celebration.
Thank you Etsy for helping me feel and share so much JOY and allowing me to share my dream with others.
