I like to work primarily with watercolor and ink pen, but always find new mediums to experiment with. Most of my current work revolves around a botanical theme and my hope is to bring more life and happiness into your lives.

BIO:
I have always enjoyed making things so when it came time for college I decided I wanted to be an "artist", not truly sure what them meant. I studied 3 years at the University of Idaho as a Fine Arts major and hit a wall when it came time to choose my concentration. After getting married and relocating to Olympia, then Seattle, then San Diego I ended up taking some time away from art in an effort to get to know myself better.
After a few years I decided to finish my degree. I found a love of anthropology (thank you PBS!) and received a BA in Humanities, with an emphasis in Fine Art and Anthropology. I love that I can express these interest in the form of art using whatever medium feel suitable; to never have to limit myself to one style, and truly express myself.

What is a Giclee Print?

Giclee (pronounced Gee’clay) is a French term meaning to spray or squirt, which is how an inkjet printer works. However, it is not the same as a standard desktop inkjet printer, and is much larger and more detailed. Giclee prints can be a little over a meter wide and are printed on high quality archival papers. Giclee is the best way to produce archival reproductions of your fineart and photography.

How Long will my Giclee Prints Last?

Giclee printing uses special, light-fast inks which are archival certified, meaning each print will last a lifetime if treated properly, or longer if kept out of direct sunlight.

How to Care for Original Watercolor Paintings

1. Keep a gap between the glass and the artwork. You can achieve this with mat board or a "window mount" that conceals the very edges of the work inside the frame. You should try for a 2mm gap between the glass and the artwork, to allow enough breathing space.
2. Avoid Masking tape or sellotape. These are not acid-free and can stain or damage the paper. Look for a PH-neutral, waterbased adhesive and archival tape.
3. Hang your paintings away from high-humidity rooms such as bathrooms or kitchens and out of direct sunlight whenever possible. This will keep the color from fading to quickly.
