About

I Love Vintage! (And creating Dreams with Beads)

Thank you to all my customers!
I have been a collector all of my life. Nature around me has always inspired me to interpret & create.
My family first moved from California to Santa Fe, NM, then to Portland, Oregon ( my mom's home town.) We moved back to beautiful Santa Fe & have been here 20+ years. Being the lead designer at Peyote Bird Designs for 10 years (our jewelry made famous in Sundance Catalog) gave me access to unlimited materials along with experience in the wholesale jewelry business, before starting to sell my own jewelry & vintage items online in 2004.

My innovations with flat circular & tubular 'peyote' stitch started in the late 1980's & early 1990's, as I was creating free-standing trees & sculptural shapes made of beads & found objects. I have been creating sculptural, organic & tubular shapes since then, continuing to 'push the envelope.' I don't think of bead stitching as math or geometry (although beads can represent math, & math can be represented with beads, as so many others have proven), as I think this puts a limit on my imagination. I am inspired by these artists: Georgia O'Keeffe, Henry Moore, Gaudi, Ernst Haeckel, Hans Hofmann, Edvard Munch, Van Gogh, & my grandmother, painter Mary Finley Fry. Contemporary artists that I adore are Joyce J. Scott, Ann Tevepaugh Mitchell, Dale Chihuly, Alan Lee & many more.

In my process to create forms that I see in my mind's eye, I use threads & beads to push & pull, shape & color, balance & contrast, fill & realize space, much like the movement of the wind & water. It is intuitive, circular, directional, repetitive, sometimes slow & natural, becoming my medium of meditation.
A sculptural neckpiece that I created in 2008 was featured in the Etsy 'Keep it Weird' blog in 2011 by Michelle Traub here: https://blog.etsy.com/en/keep-it-weird-do-not-adjust-your-set/

Payment
I accept payment through PAYPAL only, no exceptions. But, credit cards can be used through Paypal even without a Paypal account. Here is a link to an Etsy explanation of how to do this: https://www.etsy.com/help/article/361
Paypal payment must be made within 24 hours. E-checks through PAYPAL will have to clear the banks, usually 3-5 days, after that, I will ship your purchase out.
Shipping
I will respond to all orders via email within 48 hours. You may rely on a complete and honest description of every item. Please trust me to ship your purchases carefully and securely. Everything shipped out, including pottery and breakables, will be wrapped with care using bubblewrap and foam peanuts. Each piece of jewelry will arrive to you in a gift box. Smaller orders will be shipped in padded envelopes. I aim to please!

Please contact me for combined shipping or further questions.

I try to find the least expensive shipping, and my shipping costs are based on USPS 1st Class, unless the item or items weigh over 13 ounces, then it is either Priority, Priority Flat rate, Parcel or if the item is a book, Media Mail.
Sometimes I will choose to ship Priority if it suits the item's size and weight and it is being shipped to a nearby zone. Also, in some cases, Parcel Post has become more expensive than Priority, and so I choose Priority. If you prefer any other type of shipping method within USPS, please convo me BEFORE you make the purchase and ask. I do not ship with any other shipping businesses other than USPS.

My shipping charges are educated guestimates. That is because I base them on weight combined with the charge to the furthest zone from where I am located. Shipping can be expensive, especially when the items are fragile and/or heavy. But not to worry, I will always refund the overcharge through Paypal.

I am sorry, but I no longer ship physical items Internationally.

My tutorial is an electronic instant download; therefore, once downloaded, there is no refund on the purchase.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will gladly issue a refund for any reason, but please contact me first to let me know. The item or items must be returned to me within 5 days, in the same manner (USPS Priority insured or however I originally sent it) in the same box or envelope if possible, and in the same condition as sent, before I will reimburse the costs of the item and your shipping costs. Refunds will be given through Paypal once I receive the item back and we have agreed all is well.

Additional policies and FAQs
I do not have a layaway plan. I will RESERVE an item for you, but you must give me an exact date as to when you will make a full payment. After that, if the payment has not been made, the item will be relisted.
