Announcement    As a naturalist painter, I create plein air and Custom commissioned impressionist landscapes, nature and gardensscapes for your office or home. National Parks and nature are my subjects. Etsy listings are available in my gallery where you can view them in person. Most sales are through the gallery; I hope you will come visit.

I often work out in the field on location in nature. Referred to as “Plein Air” painting. It is a moment captured and studied in nature. This work helps me to paint larger works in the studio, these studies are and important part of this process. In my work, I try to capture a feeling of calm. The work is contemplative, often with a sense of deep space and impressionistic color.

If you are in the Washington DC Metro, visit my Studio Gallery at 106 Little Falls Street, Falls Church, VA 22046. To visit the studio gallery, please contact me: alexiapaints @ gmail.com or text 703 380-5953. We are also open every Saturday Morning from 9:30 to 12:30.

I received a Masters of Fine Arts degree in painting from The George Washington University in 1994 and enjoy teaching fine arts in the Washington DC area. I hope you will enjoy these small studies and larger studio paintings. Be sure to note the size of the painting. Each painting is a fine oil painting on a archival panel or canvas. Please visit www.alexiascott.com for more information about my work and history.

About AlexiaScottStudio

On Etsy since 2013

Unique and custom oil paintings for your home or business. Landscapes, AT, gardens, vineyards and Grand Canyon National Park are my favorites.

I began my professional painting career as an illustrator in the early 1970s. I still see a narrative in my work. The landscape can be many things and I pick and choose the elements I see before me to create what I want the viewer to feel. The smaller work offered here are Plein Air studies (painted on location). When I work in my studio on larger painting, these nature studies help me compose.

I am fortunate to have painted much of my life. I graduated from The George Washington in 1994 with a Masters of Fine Arts degree in oil painting where I studied with William Woodward and Wolf Kahn and others. I have taught fine arts for many years at Marymount University and Georgetown University and in my studio. Please visit me at www.alexiascott.com for more information on my work.
