5 out of 5 starsLiz takes the upmost pride and care n her work. Her drawings are unbelievable and lifelike. Liz stayed in touch with us through the entire process. The attention to detail in the shipping was really above anything normal. The tape that secured the drawing inside the shipping box had the edges neatly folded over on itself so you could easily open the sleeve. It is the little details like this that let you know she cares and every little thing matters. We highly recommend Liz. This was our second drawing from here and there will be more!

Alaina on Dec 28, 2022
5 out of 5 starsHer amazing customer service may only be outmatched by her incredible artistic ability. I ordered this for a friend for Christmas (last minute of course) whose dog was sick and she set expectations that it would not be ready until January. I gave the green light but then reached out when my friend's dog died just to see if she had any changes to her timeline. She was super kind and responsive but said she didn't think she could make it happen... totally understandable! Well, ornament arrived a few days before Christmas anyway... she made it happen.. and the finished product was truly amazing. The ornament is a heavy, quality weight and looked JUST like the picture I sent. I couldn't be happier with the whole exchange.

Where the magic happens ✨
Here to create with love.
Welcome to my shop! I am a graduate from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Painting and drawing is my release. Pet portraits are my expertise!
I grew up all over Bucks County, PA and lived on a farm for a short period of time. I can name the abundance of animals that I’ve known, but we would be here for a while. As a kid I found myself riding horses in the woods, drawing & painting a lot of the time, training our family dog agility for my graduation project, and then moving to the big city of Philadelphia with my cat to attend college. I studied oil painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the fine arts and graduated in 2011. After graduation I lost my beloved cat of 12 years, he was more like a dog actually, the best of both worlds. I painted him into many of my original paintings and called him my muse. When he crossed the rainbow bridge it shook my world. So many of my peers didn’t understand what I was going through at the time. It is so hard to explain the love and loss of a pet. They teach us so much, so much some never learn.
After showing a few paintings of my cat in a number of galleries I received inquiries for custom pet portraits. This began somewhat of a snowball effect which brought me here today. I don’t have much time to make original pieces these days, and that’s just fine, I would only end up with piles of portraits of my dog, Miley.

Shop policies
All of the artwork in my shop is hand painted, hand drawn, and signed by me. I offer original artwork, yet lately have been specializing in custom work. My pet portraits are the most popular! If you’re looking for a pet portrait you came to the right place. I work with most mediums, and on most surfaces. I offer ceramic mugs, Christmas ornaments, cremation urns, pencil drawings and paintings. I am open to painting on anything that is glass, porcelain, or ceramic. If you’d like a specific piece painted we can have it shipped to me.
If you would like a commissioned piece please contact me with your ideas, and photos through the ‘Contact the Shop Owner’ link on the front page of my shop, or in overview. You may also email me at lexannegrant [!at] gmail.com . Please only send photos through gmail, and all other conversation/questions through one thread on Etsy. This will keep our conversation organized, and I don’t want to miss a thing!
For custom work and personalizations: please add your personalization requests directly in the notes on your order.
Photo Requests for Custom Pet Portraits:
Please send me a private conversation with your best and favorite photo(s) of your pet.
A clear, high resolution photo will make for a beautiful drawing or painting. If you do not have one please send what you have, and I will see if I can improve it. A photo that was taken outside in natural daylight, out of direct sunlight, will show your pet’s true colors and details, and a photo taken at your pet’s eye level will show me their true essence.
Please note: Combining multiple photos tends to create a loss of likeness due to different lighting and camera angles in each photo. Please be sure to choose one photo for me to paint from to ensure that I capture the overall likeness of your pet. I can also help you choose one if you have multiple favorites. Just send them my way.
Please choose a photo that captures the details in your pet’s eye, please note that I can not change the angle of a pet’s eyes in a painting, this will result in a significant loss of details.
I will send a listing through our private conversation after we discuss the artwork. Once payment is made I will begin your custom piece.

Frequently asked questions
How do I send my photos to you for custom portraits?
You can send me a private conversation through the ‘Contact the shop owner’ or the "Request a Custom Order'
link in the listing ‘Overview’ and on the main front page of my shop titled Alexis Anne Grant Art. Once you open a private conversation you can upload 3 photos at a time through the camera icon located in the message block.
What is the most common size for a portrait drawing?
I have noticed that my 11x14 pencil drawings are the most popular when one purchases a portrait for themselves, an 8x10 makes for a lovely gift that is not too small, or too large. A 5x7 would fit perfectly framed and standing on a desktop or mantle. My sizes are measured in inches, these sizes are very common. You can find pre-cut mats, or frames for these sizes at your local craft store. (Custom sizes are available)
How fragile are your Christmas Ornaments?
My Christmas ornaments are round thick heavy weight ceramic. They are 2.5in in diameter fitting perfectly in your hand, due to their size they are not too heavy for a tree. They are very durable, yet can break if they fall from a far distance on a hard surface. I have yet to have one break, if your ornament breaks I will gladly remake it for you.
Do you offer more than one size, or color for your Christmas Ornaments?
I currently have one ornament style in stock. I would gladly shop around for your desired style, and we can have one shipped to me. Please keep in mind that the larger the ornament, the more fragile it becomes due to weight. Larger ornaments tend to be made up of thin brittle ceramic. I can paint on ceramic, porcelain, or glass.
Can I use your hand painted mugs?
Yes! My mugs are baked and sealed to last forever. They come ready to use. I do recommend gently hand washing fine art collectibles in warm water. They are not microwave safe.
Do you offer different mug styles?
Yes! I can paint on anything that is glass, porcelain, or ceramic. If you have a specific piece in mind we can have it shipped directly to me.
How do I choose a photo for you to paint or draw from?
I prefer to work from one photo to capture the overall likeness and details of a pet. Referencing multiple photos tends to create a loss of likeness due to different camera angles and lighting in each photo.
A photo taken in natural light and out of direct sunlight will show your pet’s true colors. And a photo taken at their eye level is great for a portrait. It is best when crisp details can be seen when zooming in on the photo. If you have a blurry photo, or one that doesn’t show true colors, I recommend going with a black and white graphite drawing. If you have trouble choosing a photo please feel free to send multiples my way and we can choose one together, or I can see if I can improve your favorite photo through my artwork.
