Announcement   Whether it is a Broadway play or your home, these upscale custom throw blankets add the finishing touch to any venue!!! I am especially honored that two of my throw blankets were recently on Broadway. They were part of the set design for You Can't Take It With You, starring James Earl Jones!!! The play has closed now, but what a wonderful privilege it was to have my throws in such a class production!!! If you get a minute, look the play up, you can see one of the blankets on the back of the sofa.

A very warm welcome to you from Alex's Attic, thank you for visiting my shop. I create one of a kind accessory throw blankets using high end fabrics and trims. Neither mass produced nor mass marketed, each throw is made by me in my studio in North Carolina. I take great pride in designing a throw that I would like to have in my own home. Closed with hand stitching, each throw has a reversible side as well--side two may be complementary, contrasting, or even the same fabric, but there will be two finished sides to each throw.

I am a self proclaimed fabric junkie, and my favorite thing to do is to hang out where fabric is sold and seek out distinctive, unique pieces of fabrics that I can make into throws. I design many different looks from traditional, transitional, coastal, to downright funky. Each throw exemplifies the finest workmanship and quality. My goal is to create an accessory that adds the finishing touch and the "wow" statement to your home.

As a former teacher and media specialist, I am so enjoying my adventure with fabrics and throws. I find that you can make a major change in your home decor by adding one of my throws--please check out my site and contact me with any questions. I welcome your comments and look forward to hearing from you!

About

My goal is to design functional art with my throws, each one is distinctive, made with professional expertise using extraordinary high end fabrics and trims.

About 11 years ago, I began my journey into the design world, and I have never looked back. Little did I know when I made my first throw blanket for a friend, that my life would change!!! I quickly saw how much fun it is to fabric shop, coordinate tapestries, trims, etc and then create a home decor item that can be enjoyed for years!

Having been a high school teacher, and later a media specialist, most of my working career has been in the academic world, both in the public school system and at the college level. I am thoroughly enjoying this time in my life, in the design world. I love meeting new people, and the experiences I have had with my throws have truly enhanced my life.

I am on the continual "search" for unique eye catching fabrics and trims, this is my idea of a super day...finding something totally awesome!! And, then to receive such positive feedback from my fabulous customers and clients is just the icing on the cake!!!

If you visit my other website at www.alexandrasoriginals.com and see something you are interested in, please convo me!!! I can give you more jpegs and details for any throw of interest, can easily move anything over to ETSY for immediate sale!!! I only sell online on ETSY.
