5 out of 5 starsThis was my first EVER quilt, and I understood everything clearly. I don’t even know how to read a patter and just sew “creatively.” I did learn that I need to be more careful when cutting my fabric because being off 1/8” can go wrong! Thanks for this wonderful pattern!

Passionate about patchwork and quilting!
Being creative is part of who I am. I had a brief try at patchwork in my teenage years, first with paper pieced hexagons and then branching out on my own - translating my own patterns drawn on graph paper into cushion covers.
Thirty years on, and many crafts later, I found myself gazing at a beautiful display of baby quilts in a local shop window. Before long I was a member of the quilt group who make those little quilts for the prem baby unit. A beginners patchwork and quilting course got my feet under the sewing table and my passion and love for this craft hasn't stopped growing.
Patchwork and quilting fires me up on many levels! I've always been fascinated by tessellating patterns; I enjoy detail and being precise; moving methodically through a process to produce something that is both beautiful and practical. I've found William Morris' maxim, 'Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful' describes the motivations behind what I make very well indeed.
The patterns I use and develop along with the mix of modern and more traditional cotton prints make for a range of styles that suit many different living spaces. Cohesiveness in this broad style range is found in my conscientious workmanship (the things that can't be seen are as important to me as the overall effect), the overarching desire to make something that is practical (fit for purpose), beautiful (a delight to look at, touch and use);and the vision of adding another layer of 'homeliness' to the place where you live.
