DIY Stationery Supplies for Special Celebrations

Hi there! My name is Engelise. I am the creative behind Almost Amsterdam, which I run with the support of my husband, Marc.

I design and make paper goods, decorations and accessories for weddings, events and everyday life. I love to partner with DIY brides and other designers to design key elements of their stationery or décor for them, while they do the rest. (I call this the "semi-DIY" option which allows DIYers to achieve professional-looking, results while joining in the fun and saving a bit of money too.)

I use various techniques such as digital printing and sewing while designing and producing the items for my shop and clients, but laser-cutting is my speciality and all-time favourite.

I am inspired by nature, vintage themes, the countries I visit and the world around me. Along with original designs I offer attention to detail, out-of-the-ordinary materials and a warm, personal approach. Each and every piece is finished by hand. This does mean that your order may come with small variations or even minor imperfections, but these little quirks are what make each item unique and special.

♥ Orders will only be processed once payment has cleared.

♥ If cancellation requests comes through BEFORE order was processed a full refund will be given (100 % of value of order & shipping costs) on CONDITION that the order did not require me to order *special materials. Once I've started cutting or making items, or putting together kits an order cannot be cancelled. This applies to handmade items and also to commercial stickers, ribbons and twine cut from rolls, stickers or other crafting materials cut from bigger sheets, and packaging or stationery kits that are put together by breaking up pre-packaged supplies.

Orders for physical items that are cancelled before I have started processing an order will be refunded in full. Requests for cancellations must be made in a timely manner, bearing in mind that I don't always work conventional hours.

♥ If cancellation request comes through AFTER digital design work has commenced (where applicable), but BEFORE production of the physical items has commenced a partial refund will be given (50 % of the value of the order and 100 % of the shipping costs, unless stipulated otherwise in a specific listing), on CONDITION that the order did not require me to order *special materials.
* Paper in a different colour, brand or weight and acrylic in a different colour from what I keep in stock are considered special materials.
The time I need to prepare an order for shipping varies. For details, please see individual items.

Scandinavia, Iceland & Finland: +/- 10 to 12 business days

Belgium, Germany: 3 to 8 business days

These are ESTIMATED SHIPPING TIMES, based on feedback from buyers. I cannot guarantee the services of a third party, such as the international postal services. Please order in a timely manner.

Buyers are responsible for any customs, duties and import taxes that may apply. These are not included in the shipping costs. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs.

To keep shipping costs as low as possible I ship via standard priority mail WITHOUT A TRACKING NUMBER by default. Need tracking info? This is available for an additional fee. Please contact me. I recommend shipping with a tracking number for higher value items.

Once a parcel has been handed over to the postal services it becomes the responsibility of the Dutch and International Postal services. I do not accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in the mail or for late delivery. I take great care to make sure that items are packaged securely and handed over safely to the postal services, but I cannot guarantee services rendered by a third party. Please purchase insurance and a tracking number, if you prefer not to accept the risks associated with parcels that cannot be tracked.
Refunds and Exchanges
No returns, refunds or exchanges are possible, as all items in the Almost Amsterdam shop are either cut on demand, packaged according to the customer's wishes or handmade to order. I cannot accept any returns other than incorrectly shipped items, but I do want you to be happy with your purchase. All items are checked by me personally before shipping to ensure that only quality goods are sent. If you are not happy with your order for any reason, please contact me within two business days after receipt of your parcel and I will do my best to remedy the problem if there was a mistake on my end.

Returns based on colour are not accepted. All computer monitors are different, so items may not exactly match what you see on your computer screen/monitor.

Minor imperfections form part of any handmade item. These imperfections or quirks give handmade its beauty and charm and set each piece apart. They make each item special and unique. Small imperfections and slight variations from samples or collection images, or between products or multiple items may therefore occur. Minor variations in colour, texture, size and positioning do not constitute a fault or reason for complaint.

Laser-cutting is a process by which paper, wood, fabric, acrylic or other material is cut with a laser beam. The laser beam literally burns through the paper, wood or other material being cut. Especially on wood, paper or light coloured fabrics the cutting areas may appear burnished or scorched, but this discolouration is part of the beauty of laser-cut items. It gives a delicate, almost rustic or vintage charm to wood, paper and fabric. The discolouration of many materials, but especially wood, paper and fabric, cannot be avoided. Laser-cut stationery is especially delicate and scorching, burnt away areas, fraying and small torn areas are all part of the laser-cutting process. With some materials, especially wood and light-coloured materials, smoke may leave a residue on the cut or engraved items or lightly stain any areas close to the laser beam's cutting or engraving path. Smoke residue may also cause discolouration on the back of cut items. All these "imperfections" form part of the manufacturing process and therefore do not constitute grounds for complaint, replacement or refunds.

Care should be taken when handling laser-cut stationery items as they may tear easily due to their delicate nature. This also applies to items cut from materials that break easily, such as wafer-thin wood, acrylic and wood veneer. All items will be carefully checked before shipping, but I cannot accept responsibility for damage after shipping. I recommend that buyers choose appropriate protection when mailing their DIY wedding invitations containing delicate elements. Cardstock-backed envelopes, stationery boxes or bubble-wrap envelopes may be required to ensure the safe delivery of your invitations to your guests.

Additional policies and FAQs
While I will make every effort to meet your requirements I cannot be held responsible for any unforeseen circumstances which lead to any variations to your order or any cancellations on my side. These include, but are not limited to, materials becoming unavailable locally, breakdown of equipment, natural disasters, acts of God, postal strikes or acts of terrorism.

Please keep your text/wording to a similar length as the samples in the listing and make sure to submit your FINAL text/wording with your order. Kindly check your spelling, capitalisation, punctuation and all your information and make sure that you haven't left out any information BEFORE submitting your text. It will not be possible to add additional words or lines of text or to shorten your text, once I've started with the design/layout of the item/s that you have purchased. If you have not yet finalised your text or need help please contact me so we can discuss your options before you place your order.

Orders requiring customisation will include 3 rounds of PDF proofs. The first round of proofs will be sent to you after you've made the purchase and submitted your final wording. You may request changes 2 additional times, resulting in two additional sets of proofs. The purpose of these 2 additional sets of proofs is to make minor changes to the text that the client may require, as well as to fix errors that I might have made. Any additional proofs will incur a fee of €15.00 per revision per item or card. No further changes will be possible once a proof has been approved as correct and final by the client.

It is the buyer's responsibility to review the proof/s sent to him/her and to request any edits if he or she does not agree with how the order was designed. Once a final proof is approved by the client, what is on the proof is what will be printed, cut, engraved, or sent! If I have to re-make an order due to any mistakes or changes that the buyer has overlooked or missed, the buyer will be responsible for all costs. Reprinting may also cause orders to ship at a later date. It is therefore of the utmost importance to carefully review proofs.
The buyer is responsible for obtaining the necessary consent and permission in relation to any images and text to be included in customised items and designs. I will not be held responsible for any action taken against me due to copyright infringement.

All items are subject to availability of materials and equipment and may be withdrawn at any time. If your order cannot be fulfilled, for whatever reason, I will notify you as soon as I become aware of the problem. Should there be a problem I will contact you to discuss alternatives in order to find a solution to the problem. If a solution is not possible your order will be cancelled and you will receive a refund.

I am happy to provide price estimates, but because the material costs that I pay are subject to change, I reserve the right to adjust prices as necessary. Therefore, price estimates are not firm until you make your purchase. Please request your quotation as close as possible to the time that you will be ready to order.
