Welcome to Alpenglow Vintage!

I strive to find unique and beautiful vintage items for your enjoyment. Through my shop, I promote a philosophy of “Rejuvenate, Reuse and Recycle” by finding you quality vintage clothing, accessories, luggage and décor with character! Please visit my shop often, as I add new items frequently.

I make special efforts to find vintage items that are in good condition, but please keep in mind that these items are at least 20 years old and will likely show some wear. However, know that the items I select for you are only those that I’d be happy to use myself. I’m not an expert on vintage, but I try to research the origins and background of each item, and will provide you with any information I can find. I’m also happy to provide additional photos if you have questions about a specific item.

In fact, if you have any questions at all, feel free to convo me. I strongly believe in providing customers with a good experience and will get back to you as soon as possible.

If you need help with checkout, see http://www.etsy.com/help_guide_checkout.php

Please note that state of Colorado residents will be charged sales tax at a rate of 2.9%, residents of the 6-county Metro Denver RTD district an additional 1.20 %, Boulder County residents another 0.80%, and city of Boulder residents an additional 3.41%. In other words:

--If you are outside the state of CO: no sales tax
--If you’re in Colorado but outside the Metro Denver 6-county RTD district: 2.9% state tax only
--If you’re the Colorado RTD District but outside Boulder County: 2.9% plus 1.2% = 4.1%
--If you’re in Boulder County but outside the city of Boulder: 2.9% +1.2% +.80% = 4.9%
--If you’re in the city of Boulder, 2.9% +1.2% +.80% +3.41% = 8.31%

Shipping
I ship twice a week, although I will make additional trips to the post office if you need expedited shipping. I try to use recycled materials whenever possible.

Domestic: I offer shipping via USPS, either First Class or Priority Mail depending on the weight and size of the item being shipped. Heavier items may be sent Parcel Post. I provide combined shipping on multiple items to save you money. If you want expedited shipping, please contact me for rates. In addition, I’m happy to provide shipping to a separate address if you are sending a gift - just let me know.

I will try to use recycled boxes and materials whenever possible.

If I overestimate shipping costs, I will refund your Paypal account.

Delivery confirmation is sometimes included in the cost of shipping. Insurance is available upon request, and I do recommend it, because I’m unable to control what happens to packages once they are shipped.

USPS domestic insurance fees (as of 2/9/2010)

$1.75 fee for coverage from $0.01 to $50
$2.25 fee for coverage from $50.01 to $100
$2.75 fee for coverage from $100.01 to $200
$4.70 fee for coverage from $200.01 to $300
$5.70 fee for coverage from $300.01 to $400
$6.70 fee for coverage from $400.01 to $500
$7.70 fee for coverage from $500.01 to $600
$7.70 plus $1.00 per $100 or fraction thereof over $600 in declared value for coverage from
$600.01 to $5000

International: Items are sent via USPS First Class Mail International (up to 4 pounds). Please remember this does not include tracking or insurance so it is at your own risk. If you would like to upgrade to International Priority with insurance, please contact me for costs. International customers are responsible for custom fees, duties and tariffs required by their own country. Please note that delivery outside the U.S. can take up to 4 - 6 weeks.

There is no way to track a package once it leaves the US unless it is sent by registered mail (which is very expensive). Therefore, I cannot provide a refund if a package sent internationally is lost during shipment. I am unable to accept returns on international shipments due to the complexity and expense.

The shipment will be sent to your PayPal- specified address, unless you provide an alternate address. Alpenglow Vintage is not responsible for lost or damaged packages.
Refunds and Exchanges
I try my best to describe items accurately when listing them, including measurements and any noticeable flaws. If I happen to miss a big flaw, please get in touch with me immediately (within TWO WEEKS). I want to do my best to keep you happy.

Refunds and/or exchanges cannot be made unless you feel Alpenglow Vintage has failed to note a major flaw or grossly misrepresented the item, and you contact Alpenglow Vintage within TWO WEEKS of purchase.

Please read item descriptions carefully for clothing measurements and condition details.
Items are not returnable because they do not fit: please see "additional information" below for measuring guidelines. As always, feel free to ask questions about sizing before you buy. In addition, refunds will not be given for color discrepancies, so please read the item description carefully. Note that item color can vary on different computer monitors.

If I missed something major, please let me know immediately (within TWO WEEKS) and I will do my best to work with you to resolve the issue. Any refund approved would be in the form of store credit only, less shipping and Etsy fees. Please contact me as soon as possible and return your item within TWO WEEKS of receipt. (You are responsible for postage and delivery confirmation, including providing me with the delivery confirmation number so I can track the package).
Additional policies and FAQs
Condition Descriptions

New = tags on, never worn
Mint = no noticeable flaws, rarely worn
Excellent = may shows a small amount of wear, or have an insignificant flaw that is not obvious (but will be described)
Good= some signs of wear/use
Fair = some modest areas of imperfections, repair or wear

Vintage clothing sizes vary greatly from each other and from current clothing sizes so it is critical you check the measurements carefully. It’s also recommended that you compare the measurements of the item to something you already own that has a similar cut and fits you well.

To measure clothing items, I lay each item flat on a table and measure as follows:

Bust: Armpit to armpit seam x 2
Waist: Sideseam to Sideseam at the narrowest point of waist (or an estimate ) x 2
Hip: Sideseam to sideseam at the widest part of hip x 2
Shoulder: Across the shoulders from shoulder seam to shoulder seam
Sleeve: Shoulder seam to bottom of sleeve along outside of sleeve
Length: The back of the neck to bottom of hem
Sweep: (the circumference of the bottom hem of a coat, jacket, dress or skirt)
--Coat/jacket: across the bottom hem from open edge to open edge.
--Dress/skirt: across the bottom hem with seams matched, measuring end to end, x 2

Note that a clothing item won't be comfortable if these garment measurements are exactly equal to your body measurements. The following amount of extra room will let you move:

Bust: 1 1/2 "
Waist: 1"
Hip: 2"

If the item is stretchy then the items should fit without this extra room – but I will try to provide measurements of the item when it is resting and when it is stretched out.

All items are stored in a smoke-free environment.
