About

After a long career in Hollywood behind the camera and in post-production, I return to the still photograph as a window into imagination.

The artist, Rob Lingelbach has had a long career in motion pictures. Three decades in Hollywood, followed by elective training of friends around the world, which also continued his education in linguistics, he currently serves as a part-time Literacy Tutor in the Minneapolis Public Schools teaching disadvantaged young children to read. His childhood in New York City was the basis of a music performance career and music study that continues. A main musical, philosophical, and positive influence, friend, and mentor was the late Brasilian composer, producer and arranger Oscar Castro-Neves. The extensive experience in Hollywood with Award-winning Directors, Cinematographers, and for commercials with Art Directors and Producers, brought out the image beautification talent that led to his main career as a Color Grading Artist.

From Hollywood he moved to Minneapolis in 2012. He was the Senior Colorist at Dolby Laboratories; Pacific Ocean Post; 525 Studios; Editel L.A.; Planet Blue; and Action Video. He served as design consultant on the expansion of these facilities. His work with László Kovács, Vilmos Zsigmond, Caleb Deschanel, Haskell Wexler, Roger Deakins, Jordan Cronenweth, Conrad Hall, Allen Daviau, Eric Saarinen, and especially Paul Giraud, led to continuing collaborations and development. His education and interests include music, philosophy, and literature. More at http://lingelbach.us
