Self professed painter and designer by way of inherited ability and lot's of practice!

Self professed painter and designer by way of inherited ability and practice!

Having a beautiful mother (shown in the above picture) as a talented oil painter and cake decorator, you might say it was in my blood.

My journey as an Artist began in 1999, when I went to a Goodwill store and saw this beautiful ceramic doll that had been broken at the neck and poorly repaired. Not realizing that they actually had ceramic shops where you could purchase both clay and bisque figurines, I took her home, and spent many hours getting her prepared for the white paint, which took many coats. Then, I bought some acrylic paints and painted her. To me, it was easy since for many years, like my mother, I enjoyed drawing portraits and pictures of many different types of ladies..... in hats, fancy dresses, different nationalities and bling, like the fake rhinestones my mother used to draw on our homemade paper doll clothes.

Later, as I was walking down a street, I happened to pass by a window filled with unpainted fired(bisque) and un-fired (green-ware)ceramics and I thought I had died and gone to heaven! Of course, I went nuts like a kid in a candy store. I signed up for a few airbrushing classes from that shop and bought some decorative instruction books and practiced until I got roses, my favorite flower, to the point where I felt good about painting them on ceramics, glass and fabric. I felt extremely honored when I was asked by a local ceramic shop to teach several classes on how to paint eyes and roses on ceramics.

It really became fun when my mother got involved as a painting partner, and we sold at craft fairs, on consignment, and private showings until Mom's health got too bad to continue. I gave up painting for several years until I read an article about Etsy in the local newspaper. Taking care of my 85 yr old Mother who had several serious strokes, then my Dad's botched hip replacements, I thought Etsy was a way I could get back to doing both. I love the opportunity not only to paint, but interact with Etsy sellers and customers, and along the way, I have met some really nice people that I call friends.

Since I hate patterns and stencils, I love to create by drawing and painting free-hand designs and brush-mixing my colors. When I come up with a unique style or technique, which make my customers happy, it doesn't get any better for me!

I couldn't do this without the help of my marriage mate of 34 yrs in June. He does the shipping and helps me wrap and clean up the messes I make as a "mad painter" Lol....

Yep..as you can see, 31 yrs of marriage has put a little weight on me! The positive I can take from this is, that I can better relate to what my plus size customers would like to wear and try to design for them.

I have lost my mother shown here on April 25, 2017, my stepfather of almost 58 yrs in June, 2016 and the 27 yr old mother of my great grandchild shown here with her great-great grandmother in April 2016 in a car wreck. Is there no end to heartbreak?

Returns and exchanges
I do not accept returns on clothing articles unless they are defective because I do not have clothing tags attached to items to ensure that the item has not be worn. These are safeguards retail stores require on most returns. Also, it is difficult to remove perfume or smoke from a worn item and without knowing if the item has been worn, it must be considered as used.....so for clothing, please be sure to ask all the questions you want, concerning measurements, size and materials before making a purchase, since they are not returnable unless defective based on the reasons stated above.

For items other than clothing, please contact us within one week(7 days) of receipt of the item so that we can work with you to resolve any issues. The original shipping costs are non-refundable and the buyer is responsible for return shipping, which needs to include delivery confirmation.

Custom orders are not refundable unless damaged in shipping or there is a defect. Contact me asap in these cases.
I accept credit cards, PayPal and check out directly through Etsy or PayPal. Please be sure of your purchase before you buy since I ship immediately after the payment clears and if your account has a shipped notification, I cannot cancel the order. If you request a custom order and change your mind, please notify me as soon as possible, so I can cancel the order before payment is accepted and clears, since I start working on a custom order as soon as the details are worked out and payment clears.
I ship within two-three business days after the payment is cleared. I also take special care in shipping your product safely and as described in the listing. Washing instructions for proper care of the article will be included.

Shipping is done by USPS (postal) using ground rates. For glass, expensive or heavy items, I use Priority Mail to ensure safer handling by the post office.

We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items. If you would like insurance on the shipment, or would like a faster shipping rate, let us know before payment is made so that I can include the cost to accommodate your request. A tracking number is sent to you when the item is shipped.
Additional policies and FAQs
Every item that is shipped is inspected for any defects. I also paint and design in a smoke and fragrance-free home.
