This year's card was even better than last year's. AMAZING work. Seller is so easy to work with and is timely and responsive. A great alternative to the photo cards everyone sends!

Original and fun - just what I expect from "Etsy in handmade" vendors!

Lovely graphics and simplicity - the way a sympathy card should be. My friend appreciated it very much!

About

Imagination Sprouted and Bloomed!

"My studio is where my ideas take root and my imagination blooms." - Alyssa

Freelance illustrator and teaching artist, Alyssa Holland Short, creates art that invites people into a world of beauty, discovery, and healing. Alyssa grew up in the heart of the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. Her creativity sprouted and bloomed in a wild, natural world filled with imagination, fireflies, swimming holes, and trips to the bookmobile.

Alyssa’s line of handmade artwork and stationery products reminds her customers of the people they love, inspires them to daydream, and encourages them to express their creative, authentic selves through how they decorate their homes and the gifts they give.

Alyssa has 13 years of experience teaching art. Her current work in education is primarily focused on healing and growth through art and creative expression and she has worked with domestic violence survivors, teens in foster care, and young people who are rebuilding their lives after experiencing trauma. She has a BFA in Communication Arts from Moore College of Art + Design and an MA in Art Education with a focus on community-based education from Rhode Island School of Design.

Alyssa currently resides in Providence, RI with her husband, Adam, and their dog, Lena. When she's not in the studio or the classroom, you can usually find Alyssa hiking in the woods, playing in her garden, curled up with a book, or in the kitchen experimenting with gluten-free baking.

Additional policies and FAQs
What happens when you place a custom order:

1) You send me ideas and/or photos to get the brainstorming process started. I'll send you prompts to get your creative juices flowing if you like.

2) I email you three (3) rough sketch ideas to choose from.

3) I email you a proof for your approval. Once you approve the proof, the sale is final and I begin work on your illustration. If needed, I will provide a second proof. Requests for additional proofs may increase the cost and timeframe of the project.

4) Your completed project is shipped.
