Welkom in mijn kleine hoekje van Wonder Moon.

Ik ben Ama, een kunstenaar en production designer gevestigd in Los Angeles. Overdag ontwerp ik omgevingen voor film, televisie, muziekvideo's en fotografie. In mijn vrije tijd creëer ik droomachtige werelden door middel van illustraties, papier-maché, textiel, sculpturen en handgemaakte objecten.

Mijn werk is geïnspireerd door oude theaters, stomme films uit het begin van de twintigste eeuw, maanverlichte landschappen, het oude circus en kermisattracties, volkskunst, sprookjesboeken, oude etnische culturen over de hele wereld, woestijnluchten en de schoonheid van dingen die langzaam en met de hand worden gemaakt. Elk stuk begint als een schets, een experiment of een idee dat me niet loslaat totdat het werkelijkheid wordt.

Of het nu een tekening, een mok, een papieren maan of iets heel vreemds is, ik hoop dat deze creaties een beetje verwondering, nieuwsgierigheid en magie in het dagelijks leven brengen.

Welcome to my little corner of Wonder Moon.

I’m Ama, an artist and production designer based in Los Angeles. By day I create environments for film, television, music videos, and photography. In my own time, I build dreamlike worlds through illustration, papier mache, textiles, sculpture, and handmade objects.

My work is inspired by old theaters, turn of the century silent films, moonlit landscapes, the old circus and side shows, folk art, storybooks, ancient ethnic cultures across the world, desert skies, and the beauty of things made slowly by hand. Every piece begins as a sketch, an experiment, or an idea that refuses to leave me alone until it exists in the world.

Whether it’s a drawing, a mug, a paper moon, or something stranger entirely, my hope is that these creations bring a little wonder, curiosity, and magic into everyday life.
