As soon as I saw this piece on my Instagram feed, I knew I had to have her. I've been following Miss Amanda for years on her blog and now on Instagram. I've always loved her work, and now I finally have my very own original! The colors on this gal are incredible, and the composition is gorgeous, I can't wait to get her framed and displayed. Thank you for being such an inspiring person, and for putting your amazing personality into each of your pieces. And thank you for the gorgeous valentine! I'm totally going to be selfish and keep it for myself instead of giving it to someone. :)

Even though I've ordered other pieces of art from Amanda and have always been beyond pleased with my purchases; this painting has exceeded my expectations! Thanks Amanda.

I’m Amanda. I’m a painter, maker, artist, designer, and a bunch of other names for things that look cool on a business card. This is the part where I tell you why I was born to create art and why you should buy some from me. But I’m not. Because the truth is we are all born to make art, I’m just one of the lucky few who gets to do it for money. By that fact alone, in the grand scheme of humanity, I have already won life’s lottery. If you want to throw your patronage on top of that fact and purchase something, welp, that would be pretty swell too. So let’s talk about painting. I started in 2015. Actually, that’s a lie, I started in 1981 -finger painting in the bathtub – can you believe nobody bought it?

In more recent years years I worked in non-profits in communications and graphic design, which was incredible, but it never paid very well so I supplemented with a variety of creative freelance work, which was a cathartic outlet, and also a feeble attempt to validate the five years and six figures I spent on art school. In 2014 I went out on my own as a graphic designer and filled my downtime with painting and building a commercial illustration portfolio with an emphasis on botanicals. Before long, with the help of social media, people started buying my originals and even my outtakes, which gave me a good excuse to keep going, which was great because this is what I was meant to do. When I am mixing paint and getting ready to apply it to the canvas, I can literally feel my cells shift. I can’t tell you where that comes from, but I suspect it means I am doing what I am supposed to be doing. This is it. I am here. This is now. The flowers are calling my name! And perhaps they are calling yours too.

Thank you for your interest in my work. I am so glad you are here!
