Announcement   Hello my fellow Etsy lovers:) My name is Molly and I come from a snapshot of small town America in Oregon, where I developed great expectations for myself and my future. I always dreamed of being a fashion designer in New York or Paris, but after my little sister Amanda passed away in 2006 I had a change of heart and of priorities. I decided that big city life wasn't for me and to keep my friends and family as close to my heart as they would allow. My Etsy shop is a place where I can still use my creativity to create unique clothing items as well as dabble in whatever random art medium I happen to be interested in at any given time. My true passion lies in couture dressmaking, but until I can afford the luxury materials needed to create these garments, I try to recreate them in much less grandiose style and with a much smaller budget. What I lack in high end fabrics I make up for in quality sewing and garment finishings as well as trims. I am trying to continue with my dreams because I don't feel that in order to be a success in life a person has to live in a city that everyone knows the name of or make so much money that the rising price of gas is of no concern to them. I truly believe that the key to being a success in life is simply to be content with it. So I created my label, AmandaJo and Me, to keep myself going and in honor of my sister who held me so highly and always believed in me. I have a degree in Fashion Design and have won a few awards here and there, but here on Etsy I am just trying to find my niche. I want to create clothing items that are one of a kind as a departure from the overwhelming amount of fast fashion styles that are taking over like a plague. I admire the artistry and creativity that went into clothing styles from the past, such as the 1950's . I do all of my own sewing, draft my own patterns and I incorporate couture sewing techniques whenever I can due to a deep respect for true couture. My specialty lies in my adoration of fabric and textiles and the art of manipulating them. I know my fabrics and I create pieces that showcase them. I love the idea of custom pieces and gladly take orders and requests. Mostly I am just trying make something out of my often neglected talent, based purely on hard work and creativity, and to feel content with myself and my work at the end of each day. I can't think of a better way to feel that than to make beautiful clothing with my very own hands which will make their way out into the world and be loved by one of you:)

It was a pleasure working with the shop “Amanda Jo and Me”. They send pictures along the way to update me on the dress, they allowed me to custom pick lace and fabric for the dress and best of all- the dress fit perfectly for my little flower girl! The shop owner always responded to my emails and conversation very quickly and answered all my questions! If I need another dress made for my step-daughter I will go straight to this shop!!! Thanks again for the beautiful dress that was made!!
