4 out of 5 starsLoved the paper dolls! But be prepared to wait a bit for them if you live in the US. Postage is very, very slow being mailed from Australia. Make sure you give yourself enough time if it is a gift.

5 out of 5 starsAmaria is amazingly talented. The quality of the dolls are substantial. I worked with Amaria on a custom order. She was extremely helpful and resourceful finding solutions that would make my custom order very personal. Also impressive is her photo editing skills. If needed Amaria expertly can retouch the images she has been given. She was flexible with last minute changes and updated me throughout the process. And very importantly, delivered on time as promised. Highly recommend Amaria.

Putting a new Spin on Play!
My name is Amaria. I teach in a primary school and love creating things in what spare time I have. Philip, also a teacher, taught wood technology before his retirement. We work as a team, bringing together my creative talents and his technical skills to build the revolving dolls' houses you see in this shop. Our two young children encourage and inspire us, and the new name of our shop was their suggestion.
You may have known me in the past as "AmariasPaperWork", and might even have come across my magnetic paper dolls.
I have always loved dabbling with paint, paper, scissors and glue. As a child, I remember making paper dolls with my mother- drawing them on stiff card, and then tracing them to make all sorts of clothes. As a mother, I am always on the lookout for appropriate and stimulating toys that give opportunity for imaginative play and don't push children to grow up before their time. When my sister got out some paper dolls I'd made for my niece some time ago and suggested there might be a market for them, Amarias PaperWorks was the result! The name originated because the only paperwork I am good at is the pencil-paint-glue-scissors kind, but with the introduction of our dolls' houses, we needed to come up with a different name.
The original dolls' house came about when I wanted to find something out of the ordinary for our little girl's birthday. She was collecting Sylvanian Families figures and furniture, and has always loved the Brambly Hedge books. The concept of a tree stump, with the inside revolving to reveal different rooms, sprang to mind. I drew a sketchy design for my husband and it didn't take him long to accurately measure and cut the pieces and assemble them to form a revolving dolls' house. With some papier mache and paint, it soon turned into a realistic tree stump.
Friends and family started to suggest other concepts; one of them asked us to build a red barn, and another asked for a lighthouse. Our son asked for a castle tower and a colleague suggested a toadstool. So, we decided to share our concept with others. And here we are!
We welcome you to our store and hope you enjoy browsing. And we'd love to make a unique, custom-built revolving dolls' house for you!

Shop policies
I love custom orders and will enjoy the challenge of making special clothes for you. Please bear in mind the following points, however:
1. I will not make brand-name costumes.
The main reason I began making my magnetic dress up dolls in the first place was because of my concern with the way commercial brands target children, manipulating them to become brand-loyal consumers from an early age. Making brand-name look-alike costumes not only risks breaching copyrights, but contradicts the very raison d'etre of my shop.
2. Keep it family-friendly!
My children love to sit and watch me work and I will not make anything that is not in keeping with the child-friendly tone of my shop and home.
3. I reserve the right to include any custom clothing I have created in future listings in my shop.
