About
My Story!
I love to add a Twist of Country to all my Doll fashions I sew. I also love to challenge myself with Wool fiber accents added in my fashions. What's more fun than having a "One of a Kind' look to your doll outfit. I sew for the 18" to the 6" doll.
When I was a little girl between the ages of 4 to 5, I first learned to sew with my grandma. I spent my summers in Minnesota on my grandparents’ farm. I was always in love with my grandma’s Singer treadle sewing machine. It actually was my great-grandma’s and its my machine now.
I made so many pillows, every summer. Then I would create clothes for my dolls, too. When I came home, I would sew on my machine that my mom had given me. Nothing compares to learning on a treadle machine, with your grandma sitting next to you and giving you tips on how to keep it running smooth or the stories she would tell of teaching my mom to sew on that machine, too.
In my 50+ years of sewing my favorite was sewing shorts, backpacks for my kids and pajamas. My daughter (now in her 30's) always put her order into Santa for a wardrobe for her dolls every year. Mrs. Claus would get very busy late at night and sew away..
Then fast forward to 2006 and we adopted 3 of our grandchildren 2 happen to be girls. For Christmas in 2013 Our Son and his girlfriend bought them both a American Girl doll (My first ever encounter with American Girl dolls).
Then of course I needed a model. So my husband bought me a doll. That led to many more. The girls and I now just say Dad we NEED her. LOL
