I have a Luddite streak a mile wide.
Welcome to my world! All of my work comes from a love of drawing, the written word, craftsmanship, travel, my home in the Pacific Northwest, and the everyday world around me.
I'm an Illustration graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and have been creating original work under my in-house brand Anagram Press since 2004. But I've been lettering for over 20 years, and letterforms creep into my work at every turn.
I primarily work in the media of watercolor, ink and printmaking (linocut and letterpress), bringing painstakingly detailed illustrations and text to life. In this shop you'll find cards, ornaments, prints, and all manner of goodies to beautify your world. All of my letterpress prints are hand-printed, by me, at a local letterpress studio in my hometown of Tacoma, WA. I also hand-paint many of my letterpress editions with watercolor, so each print is a unique, original work of art, completely handmade from start to finish.
For my illustrations done in a medium that doesn't lend itself to letterpress printing (like my hand-painted "Love Birds" series, painted in acrylics), or for limited-edition letterpress prints that have sold out, I also offer greeting cards and postcards that are offset-printed reproductions of my originals. The result is a shop packed with many different items, offering something for everyone, with every budget.
Thank you for stopping by!
Owner, Maker, Designer, Illustrator, Letterer
Chandler has run Anagram Press since 2004, and loves doing everything (from lettering to illustration to printmaking) by hand, the old fashioned way. She's also the author of the illustrated travel blog, "Drawn the Road Again."
A commercial printer produces my reproduction cards and postcards for me. These reproductions are either made from letterpress editions that have sold out or from original illustrations done in a media (like acrylic paint) that can't be hand-printed.
iPop produces my bird magnets, creating a high-quality glass magnet that is super strong. iPop has a long history of working with Etsy artists to produce their magnets.
Keltech Plastics is a local company that produced my theater magnets. Each magnet has my original illustration printed behind a piece of heavy-duty plexi.
Temporary Tattoos.com produces the temporary tattoos I've designed, using safe, non-toxic and hypo-allergenic inks that comply with U.S. temporary tattoo safety standards. I designed the tattoos myself, and also package the finished tattoos myself, using my own packaging designs.
