Ik heb altijd geloofd dat het juiste accessoire niet zomaar een 'toevoeging' is, maar de basis van een complete look. Lang voordat ik Anam-Q oprichtte en mijn website bouwde: www.anam-q.com, was ik iemand die een silhouet samenstelde rond een enkele sjaal of een specifiek sieraad. Voor mij zijn accessoires de meest directe manier om een outfit van alledaags naar betekenisvol te tillen.
Jarenlang stond mijn dagelijks leven in het teken van de snelle technologiesector. Het was een carrière gebaseerd op logica en systemen, maar mijn ware creatieve energie lag altijd elders. Ik was constant op zoek naar dingen die substantieel aanvoelden – accessoires met genoeg 'zwaartekracht' om de ambitie van de vrouwen die ze droegen te weerspiegelen.
De sprong in het archief
Het verlaten van de zekerheid van een baan in het bedrijfsleven was een kwetsbaar, angstaanjagend 'identiteitscontract' dat ik met mezelf moest tekenen. Het was het moment waarop ik besloot te stoppen met zoeken naar dat perfecte, hoogwaardige product en het zelf te gaan creëren. Ik wilde een accessoiremerk opbouwen dat geen concessies deed aan de kwaliteit.
Daarom koos ik voor 20-momme zijdesatijn voor mijn zijden sjaals waarmee ik Anam-Q lanceerde. De meeste zijde die je vindt is licht en vluchtig; 20-momme is anders. Het heeft een glanzende, zware structuur en een mooie valling die perfect blijft zitten. Van de fijne, babyachtige zomen tot de manier waarop de stof het licht vangt, elk detail weerspiegelt de essentie (de 'Q' in onze naam) die ik in mijn werk nastreef. De ziel van het ontwerp
Ik woon in Dublin en put veel inspiratie uit mijn Ierse achtergrond. Of het nu de beschermende geometrie van een Dara-knoop is of de loyaliteit van een Claddagh-knoop, deze motieven zijn voor mij meer dan alleen patronen – het zijn symbolen van de onwrikbare identiteit die we aan de wereld uitstralen.
Dit is nog maar het begin van de reis. Ik ben bezig een collectie moderne, erfgoedstukken samen te stellen die je helpen om de ruimte met zelfvertrouwen te veroveren. Bedankt dat je deel uitmaakt van dit eerste hoofdstuk.

For years, my daily life was centered in the fast-paced technology sector. It was a career built on logic and systems, but my true creative energy was always elsewhere. I found myself constantly searching for pieces that felt substantial—accessories that had enough "gravity" to match the ambition of the women wearing them.
The Leap into the Archive
Leaving the security of a corporate job was a vulnerable, terrifying "Identity Contract" I had to sign with myself. It was the moment I decided to stop searching for that perfect, high-quality piece and start creating it. I wanted to build an accessories brand that didn't cut corners.
That’s why I chose 20-momme silk satin for my silk scarves to launch Anam-Q. Most silk you find is light and fleeting; 20-momme is different. It has a lustrous weight and a structural drape that stays exactly where you style it. From the fine baby hems to the way the fabric catches the light, every detail is a reflection of the Quintessence (the 'Q' in our name) that I strive for in my own work.
