Brushes used during the dyeing process are separated by color. This keeps colors bright and clean during application.

Printing process. Each color is carefully hand printed onto the fabric.

The fabric is then washed to remove excess dye. The entire process is done by hand with meticulous attention to detail.

Tenugui is a traditional Japanese hand towel designed for multi-use. They can be used as tea towels, placemats, bandanas, home decoration... even as a lovely way to wrap gifts!
Anbo has been producing these tenugui using traditional Japanese dyeing techniques since 1907. They are made from the finest Japanese cotton called chita cotton, produced in Chita city, Aichi prefecture. They are dyed with natural indigo using dyeing techniques perfected over centuries.
