Welcome to Ancient Links. Here, old devotional items inspire new creations. I often include vintage items in my handmade pieces--a crucifix or rosary center, even a medal. The sense of connection to the past with tangible objects, and particularly objects of devotion, is very important to me. So, even when I am making completely new rosaries, I draw upon the designs of the past and pull them into the present, creating a sense of the ancient and the new in one piece.

I am very happy to be a part of the Etsy community. I buy many supplies here, and so I am pleased to re-present their lovely items as finished pieces.

Specialty and Repairs
I specialize in wire wrapped rosaries and religious jewelry. Wire wrapped rosaries take more time to make than standard rosaries, but they are much, much stronger. My wire wrapped rosaries come with a guarantee! If the wire breaks for whatever reason, I will fix it! Simply send it to me in appropriate packaging, and I will send it back to you as good as new. These wire work repairs cost you nothing but shipping both ways. If a bead gets destroyed, please send it to me. I will try to find a matching replacement and charge you only the cost of the materials (no labor) plus shipping. Please make sure the rosary is safe while it is traveling; the buyer is responsible for the rosary until it gets to me.

I will also repair my other items. Charges (or non-charges) are commensurate with the type of repair. Remember, I want you to be happy with your purchase, and secure in the knowledge that your piece will be cared for even if it breaks.

Your happiness with the item and with the time it arrives is important to me. I take great care that your purchase will arrive safely and in a timely manner.

It is IMPORTANT to note that I ship to the address you supply to Etsy when you check out.

I ship orders within 3 business days after receiving payment, unless the item is a custom-made order, in which case the turnaround time varies. The buyer will be notified of the time in each case.

Items are shipped via USPS First Class, which usually takes 2-5 days in the US, and 8-24 days internationally. If you need something sooner, or want insurance on the package, contact me and I will set up a special listing with Priority Shipping for an additional charge.

International shipping: I ship worldwide. All taxes, duties and customs fees associated with international shipping are the responsibility of the buyer.
Refunds and Exchanges
Please contact me if you have concerns with your order. I will work with you to ensure that you are happy.

If an item arrives damaged, let me know. Send me pictures and we will determine the nature of the damage. If the piece was defective on arrival-- broken, separated, or if the stones are split, return the item to me within THREE DAYS with all parts, broken or otherwise, and I will either refund you the money (minus shipping) or provide you with an identical piece. Buyer pays to ship it to me. I will pay shipping to get the replacement to you!

I stand by my work, and if for some reason you are dissatisfied with the quality, let me know! We'll work something out.

VINTAGE AND ANTIQUE ITEMS: Please note that vintage items will have wear and marks commensurate with their age and use. They will not be perfect, and these signs of use are part of the experience of vintage and antique items. I make every effort to provide detailed descriptions, including descriptions of any damage-- missing beads, marks, cracks, etc.-- and also to provide photos of the same. Please pay attention to the photos and descriptions when buying vintage items. Do not hesitate to convo me with any questions. If, when you receive an item, you feel that it is vastly different from what you thought you ordered, please convo me and we will work together to resolve the issue.

If you are deeply dissatisfied, please let me know. If we agree upon a return, I will refund the price of the item once I receive it, but, as with most sellers on Etsy, I make no money whatsoever on the shipping (sometimes I even lose money), so it is impossible to refund the original shipping or the return shipping.

IMPORTANT: If you intend to return the item, please note that if the item was damaged while in your possession (e.g. through cleaning it you stripped it of the plating or scored it, or accidentally crushed a bead, or bent it, or broke it), I cannot refund it, as I can no longer resell it. I do hope you understand.
Additional policies and FAQs
Reserving Items: We all have those moments when we see something we want, but we need to wait for that paycheck to land before we can get it. I am happy to reserve listings for you or to set up special listings, for a small listing fee.

Because of several difficulties in the past with reserves, I now only reserve items for TWO WEEKS at the outside. If you want to reserve an item or set of items for longer than that, I will require a non-refundable down payment, the amount of which will be based on the item or items you want to reserve.

I want you to get what you want, and will work with you to ensure that happens. I simply cannot reserve items indefinitely, thus preventing others from purchasing them.

Thank you for your understanding.

Need more than one item?
Sometimes one is not enough! If you want more than one of the same item, let me know! If it is an original piece, will most likely be able to make another (or more) for you, and will set up a special listing for you. If it is a vintage piece, I can most likely find it, but it may take a bit of time. These special orders need to be paid for in advance, i.e. before I make the extra ones, or, in the case of vintage items, once I find them. Discounts for bulk orders of an identical item apply. I will let you know how long it will take and when the item will ship to you.

Custom Items:
I am often asked to make custom rosaries, religious medal necklaces, chaplets, etc. If you want something in a certain color, or have unique ideas about how an item should look, convo me. I will work with you to make you what you want. Custom items require a deposit in advance, to cover materials costs and other incidentals.

Caring for sterling silver and raw brass jewelry:

Unless and item is tarnished beyond recognition, I often leave the patina on vintage items. It connects us to the past! However, if you prefer your items to be shiny, here are someways to care for them.

First, gently clean the metal in warm soapy water, using a gentle soap. If the piece has any wood or leather in it, please take care to keep those elements as dry as possible.

Sterling silver and raw brass tarnish over time. Storing your jewelry in plastic bags will slow this process, but not completely halt it . If you prefer to have shiny silver, you can apply a polishing cloth to the item, if it is lightly tarnished.

If it is heavily tarnished, line a heatproof bowl with aluminum foil (or use an aluminum pan). Ladle two tablespoons of baking soda into the dry bowl, and then add about a cup of boiling water. Then gently submerge the sterling silver. Stir the liquid and let it sit there until it's bright enough for your tastes. Rinse with cool water and dry with a soft cloth. The seller is not responsible if you do not like the results, think it is too shiny, etc.

Cleaning Raw Brass: Do not use brass cleaner, particularly on vintage items.

For light tarnish, a jewelry polishing cloth can be used.

If the item is heavily tarnished, place 1/2 a cup of ketchup into a glass bowl (NOT metal). You can also use the juice squeezed from a lemon. Either submerge the tarnished item into the liquid, or apply it to the item. Do not use any harsh scrubs to apply. After the desired brightness is achieved, run under cool water and dry with a soft cloth. Again, the seller is not responsible if you do not like the results.
