I am a published artist living in California. My medium of choice (and true love) is oil!

Most of the time my art is painted in the Alla Prima style. The paint is applied wet-into-wet with most brushstrokes remaining visible. I work with both brush and painting knife. All paintings are rendered with the highest grade of oil colors and are archival.

Oh and by the way, if an item you were interested in is no longer listed, it is due to a sale elsewhere, thus removed from Etsy. Wishing you the most pleasant day!

Beautiful, quality art! I bought two paintings, one gift and had to have one for myself! The packaging was so professional and lovely and arrived quite on time. Thank you!

About

THAT ONE THING!

Artist Statement:

You know that movie where Curly and Mitch are having a conversation about that ONE THING!

✽ Excerpt from 'City Slickers' movie script ✽
Curly: Do you know what the secret of life is?

Curly: This. [holds up one finger]

Mitch: Your finger?

Curly: One thing. Just one thing.
You stick to that and the rest don't mean ****.

Mitch: But what is the "one thing?"

Curly: [smiles] That's what YOU have to find out.

I am very grateful that I did long ago and I'm still at it.

The Japanese call it *ikigai * 'something one lives for', 'a reason for being'.

Everyone, according to the Japanese, has an ikigai. The French call it raison d'être. Finding "IT" requires a deep and often lengthy search of self. Such a search is regarded as being very important, since it is believed that discovery of one's ikigai brings satisfaction and meaning to life.

painting = joy. A lovely life equation!

Loose painterly strokes continue to attract me to the gobs of paint on my palette. I favor alla-prima painting because it sparks my emotional response better than a structure of time-related layers.
