I believe that animals fill our world with mystery and beauty, and I aim to communicate that through my paintings. I like to use color and flowing lines to give each of my creatures a distinct and whimsical personality. I typically avoid background elements so that the viewer can decide where the animal is. I think everyone deserves an escape from the daily grind, and I hope that the element of fantasy in my work animates the imagination.

I have been collecting bones and making jewelry for myself and family and friends since 2014, and offering my pieces to the public since 2015. If you would like to know more about the decomposition process and how bones are cleaned, please email me! I am happy to share with my customers.

My bone jewelry is meant to celebrate the lives of wild creatures. Though the souls of animals may leave their bodies, what is left behind nourishes numerous other organisms and can remind us that life is transient but purposeful. All bones are ethically sourced-as a practicing vegan and animal advocate, my primary goal is to memorialize those animals who have died.

I believe that animals can teach us a great deal about our world and particular environments-we just have to be willing to learn. I have never and will not kill an animal in order to use its bones. I consider the skeletal remains I collect a great gift from an animal who has unfortunately passed on. My pieces are about recognizing the beauty in all things. For me, it is heartbreaking to find so many deceased animals on roadsides, but my work allows me to honor them. I hope to encourage others to reflect upon the lives of our wildlife, and think of them as more than simply roadkill.

I accept custom requests for jewelry, paintings, and felt ornaments. I love to learn about which animals inspire you!

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

How do I request specifications not listed in the Variations section?

If you would like to request specific color combinations that are not listed for jewelry or felt ornaments, please leave a note when making your order or email me with your order information and desired specifications. I want you to be super happy with your custom order, so don't hesitate to contact me with any additional questions or concerns before or after placing one.

Can I order custom made wire-wrapped bone jewelry?

Yes! Because of the huge number of variants involved in making wire-wrapped pieces, I ask that these orders are placed with me directly. Due to the ever-changing availability of bone material and unreliable nature of nature, my stock constantly varies. If you would like a particular kind of bone (for example, a thoracic vertebra versus a lumbar vertebra) or bone from a particular animal, please contact me and I'll let you know what I have available. I want you to get a piece you'll love, so if you have ideas I welcome them!

Care instructions

Do I need to worry about the condition of my bone jewelry? Are there risks involved in wearing this material?

Each bone used in my work is chemically sanitized, and completely safe to touch and wear. Bones featured in my resin pieces are coated with resin, so are slightly more durable than those wrapped in wire. In the case of wire-wrapped, non encased bone, they may be more prone to damage if impacted by a hard surface. As with many other materials, just be mindful that cracks or breaks can occur if the piece is roughly treated. For instance, if you pack one of these items in a suitcase, wrap it in tissue and place it in a box, etc. The bones are sturdy, but not completely impervious to harm.

Where do you get your bones?

90% of my bones come from deceased animals I find myself. The remaining 10% come from other ethical and legal bone collectors; these are either whole animals that were temporarily preserved (i.e., frozen), or finished sanitized bone specimens.

I feel that I cannot overstate my ethics: I have never and will not ever kill an animal or accept bone from an animal that was intentionally killed. I do not support hunting, especially as a means of obtaining skeletal material. I love animals, and my work is about honoring their lives, not lauding their death.

Can I order a custom painting?

Yes! I gladly accept orders for custom acrylic animal paintings under 24"x30". Please contact me with your ideas, and I will do my best to make you a one of a kind artwork with your stamp of originality. I will only say no to a request if you have your heart set on a painting of an animal that I feel I would not be able to render to your satisfaction. I don't believe in leading anyone to think that I can perfectly craft every creature, so I will be honest if I think an idea is beyond my capability.

Can you paint my pet?

Maybe. I love creating pet representations, but please keep in mind that my style is not realistic. I am happy to discuss painting your pet; just know that the finished product will look like something between a caricature and a likeness. If you're looking for a colorful whimsical painted version of your pet that highlights its personality, I may be the artist for you!
