5 out of 5 starsAnother thorough, approachable, and clear example of experimental archaeology in action! I cherish the amount of research that accompanies the clear and well-photographed instructions. I can't wait to make this hood! I learn so much from AWB's materials.

5 out of 5 starsI am delighted at the quality of both the research and its presentation. Thank you very much for the excellent information and documentation! I can't wait to apply what I've learned about this aspect of 19th century hairdressing. As I live overseas, thank you so much for the convenience of a PDF document!

5 out of 5 starsThis is a substantial (yet approachable!) amount of information on a commonplace and unappreciated slice of life. The research is excellent, and there are SO many high-quality images! I really recommend this ebook to anyone wanting to expand their historical impression as well as their knowledge of shawls, their use, and their care!

5 out of 5 starsI am delighted by the absolute wealth of information present in this short guidebook. I owned it in hardcopy years ago, but it must have gotten lost in various moves. This is extremely useful and well-compiled research and is an absolute must for the 19th century living history enthusiast or professional!

5 out of 5 starsI've been dragging my feet about making one of these quilted hoods for years and now I wish I had gotten Anna's pattern ages ago! There are excellent construction notes, clear instructions, and plenty of pictures. It would be nice if the pattern pieces were clear in how they matched up, but the shapes are ultimately pretty straightforward. Don't be intimidated by the quilting! The end result is gorgeous, sturdy, cozy, and oh-so-historical! The bonnet can be made in less than a day (and I hand-sewed the whole thing!). I can't wait to make more!
