This is extremely useful and well-compiled research and is an absolute must for the 19th century living history enthusiast or professional!

I've been dragging my feet about making one of these quilted hoods for years and now I wish I had gotten Anna's pattern ages ago! There are excellent construction notes, clear instructions, and plenty of pictures. It would be nice if the pattern pieces were clear in how they matched up, but the shapes are ultimately pretty straightforward. Don't be intimidated by the quilting! The end result is gorgeous, sturdy, cozy, and oh-so-historical! The bonnet can be made in less than a day (and I hand-sewed the whole thing!). I can't wait to make more!
