Fantastic Kindle cover!! I have had several 'leather like' covers that always wore out after a short time (I am an avid reader and travel a great deal). This actual leather cover is a vast improvement. Beautiful handwork and great leather. Thank you!!!

About

A Journey with Books

I have loved books for as long as I can remember, but becoming a bookbinder was an unexpected development. I read, wrote, and edited texts in a previous life, and even dabbled in layout. But I never stopped to think about how a book actually hung together. That changed when I entered an enclosed monastery and was assigned to work in its bookbindery. I was gradually initiated into the various facets of bookbinding and discovered, to my joy, that binding could be combined with various creative impulses to create works of real beauty.

I later left the monastery in order to become an Orthodox Christian. Returning to South Africa, I turned to bookbinding as a way of supporting myself. After some years in the Western Cape, I have recently moved to Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal where I have been asked to take responsibility for St Mark's Orthodox Mission in Edendale.

All of my books are hand-bound and most of them (with the exception of the Mini Notebooks) are hand-stitched. I try to use recycled products - and, indeed, to recycle materials myself as can be seen in the collage and patchwork leather covers.

And, if you are interested in the occasional theological reflections of an Orthodox Christian, you can visit my blog here:

I will post more links to the work of the mission once I have got a website together...

Payment
I accept Paypal payments, which you can use with any major credit card.
Shipping
I normally ship to all countries using the South African Post Office airmail service, which usually takes one to two weeks, but can sometimes take longer particularly at busy times of year. Once your order is dispatched, I will send you a tracking number which enables you to follow the progress of the parcel.

I am presently adding an expedited courier option, that is considerably more expensive but may be worth considering for some items.

Please be aware that some countries will charge customs for imports and that these are the responsibility of the buyer.
Refunds and Exchanges
All books are made with care and are hand-packed by me. Should they arrive damaged, or if they do not meet your satisfaction, please let me know and I will try to work something out.
