Announcement   Hello, my name is Anne and welcome to my shop, come in and look around.
I love English china from tea sets to vintage cake stands and other beautiful vintage homeware.
I simply adore the beauty of English bone china, the quality is superb. I search far and wide for pretty chinaware so that you can start your own collection or give someone a special and thoughtful lasting gift.

Sometimes I will buy a whole teaset and when washed and checked may turn out to be just a few teacups and saucers as I will discard any that are chipped or cracked.
*************************************************************************************
People often say that tea tastes better when drunk from a proper teacup rather than a mug, perhaps it is the ritual of placing the teacup on a saucer or could it be that the tea is more likely to be brewed in a teapot when using teacups, a time old tradition that still evokes an age of elegance.

*************************************************************************************
The china I buy was made in the Staffordshire Potteries many years ago.. Until the mid 20th century there were hundreds of potteries in Staffordshire manufacturing all sorts of china for the home. There are only one or two companies producing china. Others have switched their china manufacture to Asia. Still of a high quality, but just not "English"

How to look after your vintage china
****************************************
Bone china is very strong and when used at room temperature you can use hot liquids without harm.. If knocked against a hard surface the rim can chip. The gold gilding on the rim, handle or foot of the cup is real gold mixed with a fixative which is fired in the kiln to keep it in place. With prolonged use some of the gilding may wear - this is quite normal and not harmful.
************************************************************************************
Washing up should be done by hand.
*************************************************************************************
I select only the best pieces of china for my tea sets and cake stands.

God Bless and be happy. Anne x

I'm so impressed with the whole experience. The silver teapot set arrived in prefect condition, packed and shipped with so much care. There was a lovely thank you card from the seller. I know I paid for the product but it felt like l was getting the best gift from a friend. I'm so happy with my purchase and highly recommend!

Often made as wedding gifts in England, I knew a very sweet lady who crocheted me some when I got married. The work involved in creating them take a lot of skill.

About

Memories of Sunday tea.

One of my earliest memories is pointing out pretty things to my mum. Even at this early age I had an understanding of how things were made, the time involved and the creative mind behind each exquisite creation. I learned to crochet at the age of seven and to sew soon after,I would spend hours making my dolls and teddies clothes on my mums old Singer sewing machine. I'd watch her making my dresses too and would beg her to let me hand sew the button holes and sew the buttons on.

On Sundays I loved to lay the table for tea time and would take the best china out of its cabinet to set the table properly, the white cloth went on first, then the pretty embroidered one. Cups and saucers, plates and the polished cutlery would be placed ... just so... When all of this preparation was complete I would go to the garden and pick a few flowers to place in a little glass vase in the centre.

We would always have a proper tea of sandwiches (crusts off and cut into triangles) scones, a Victoria sandwich ( I swear my mother could make these with her eyes shut ) plus a tin of fruit with ideal milk poured over. All of this was washed down with copious amounts of loose tea strained through a little strainer that sat on the china cups. Sometimes my brothers would pour their tea into the saucers to drink,as the tea was too hot, accompanied by my mothers tutting! She always forgave them this bad habit though as she sat at the head of the table, for her family were her world.

Returns and exchanges
I am happy to answer any queries and provide extra information and photographs of an item before it is purchased.

In the unlikely event that an item has been damaged in transit, please contact me within 7 days to discuss a replacement or refund.

I accept returns of items within 14 days of receipt. As long as I receive the item in the same condition as it was received by the customer, I will provide a full refund of the item cost and the original shipping charge. The cost of return shipping is covered by the customer, as I am unable to refund this amount.

Due to the age of the china, some items might have slight imperfections, e.g. fine crazing, or small manufacturing flaws, such as rough edges, missing glazing or small areas of missing colour. Where they are significant I will draw attention to them in the item listing but generally they are part of the charm of vintage china.

A lot of the fabrics I use are pre-loved and although the pieces are in good condition, occasionally some might have slight imperfections. I believe this is balanced by the uniqueness of the item.
Payment
Currently payment is by Paypal only. You can still pay by Paypal if you haven’t got a Paypal account - just follow the instructions for using a credit or debit card.

Please pay within 3 days of placing your order. If you have not paid for your item after 3 days and you have not contacted us, then I will assume that you no longer wish to purchase the item(s) and will cancel your order.
Shipping
I ship items throughout the week. If you require urgent posting, please contact me to see if earlier posting is possible.

**PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR ETSY ADDRESS IS CORRECT DURING CHECKOUT. Your package will be sent to this address and not the Paypal one. Contact us as soon as possible if you need your package sent to a different address.

**UK ORDERS: items will be sent using Royal Mail or a courier such as Parcelforce or MyHermes depending on the weight of the item. If you would like recorded, tracked or next day delivery, please contact me for a quote.

**INTERNATIONAL ORDERS (i.e. outside the UK): we use Royal Mail airmail for all orders. THIS MEANS THAT THEY ARE *NOT* TRACKED. I use this as the default in order to keep shipping costs as low as possible. However, if you require any other type of postage, e.g. tracked, priority shipping etc. I am happy to provide a quote - please convo me for details before placing your order. Please also note that international delivery usually takes 2 - 3 weeks but sometimes it can take up to 5 or 6 weeks depending on the destination. I am not able to ask Royal Mail to investigate shipment of parcels until 6 weeks after posting.

**BULK SHIPPING **
If you are looking to make multiple purchases it may be more economical to use a courier. Please contact me for a quote for courier delivery which is usually a lot faster than Royal Mail airmail.

All china/other breakable items will be carefully and securely packed in bubble wrap within a sturdy cardboard box.

If you’re only buying one item, then you can find the shipping rate on the item listing. If you are buying more than one item and would like to find out if combined postage is possible, please contact me to find out. Alternatively, you can make your purchases and I will issue a refund if shipping is less than what you've paid.

For local pick-up arrangements please contact me before purchasing the item.

Customers outside the UK are responsible for any fees, taxes and duties associated with importing into their respective countries.
