About

I listen to what the stone tells me to do

I started designing jewelry as a young child and found myself completely obsessed with treasure and fascinated by rocks and crystals. My sister, cousin and I started with beads and enjoyed making jewelry as a hobby together. While they pursued other career paths, I continued to make jewelry and began to sell my pieces in high school, then in college. While still attending school, I officially started my business in 1995 as Annick Designs. I finished college with a Bachelor's degree in writing and art studio with a concentration in photography from SUNY Potsdam. Although, I was determined to make a career in photography, my long time, self taught skills of jewelry design allowed for more artistic expression without the sacrifice of a paycheck. I sold my work through the show circuit for 15 years, full time. I then opened my brick and mortar store in downtown Troy, New York in 2012.

Although, my designs continue to evolve, my main interest lies with the stones that I use in the jewelry. When I wrap a stone, it's not about the wire wrapping, it's about the stone. I simply listen to what it tells me to do. I also do some lapidary work and will cut and polish my own stones by hand. This allows me to work with many minerals that most jewelers don't have access to or pay a very high price for to put into their jewelry. I'm always on the look out for that rare, one of a kind mineral that most people have never heard of. Finding these treasures can often be my favorite step to my process, and parting with them can be the hardest part, as I become attached to many of my pieces.

Welcome to my Shop! Annick Designs Jewelry has been in business since 1995. I've been designing jewelry since I was a child and turned my hobby into a full time career. I've always considered myself an artist before a jewelry designer for I've dabbled in many mediums. But its my obsession with treasure and sparkling gems that has chosen my path for me. I've always done art shows in the Northeast of the United States and now I've brought my art to the web and here on Etsy. I also have a storefront in Troy, New York. Please visit my main website for store info and like me on Facebook to receive promotions and news. www.annickdesigns.com

Payment
Payments accepted: Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, Personal checks or money orders. If paying by check, your order won't go out until check is received and cleared. Please contact me first if you choose this method of payment. All purchases are shipped within 1-3 business days. The time frame on shipping for custom orders will be discussed.
Shipping
I ship through the United States postal service. My shipping and handling prices are for first class mail delivery and include insurance. Contact me before your purchase if you want to upgrade to faster shipping.

International Shipments:
If I'm shipping out of the United States, first class mail will take about 2-3 weeks for delivery, sometimes shorter, sometimes longer depending on the country its being shipped to. If your package gets held up in Customs, it could take longer and there may also be a customs fee that you'll have to pay for imports. This depends on your country. Please keep in mind that I have no control over this and it has nothing to do with me. I also print the customs label directly from Etsy. It prints out the item and its value directly on the label. I can't remove this option so keep that in mind when shipping the item as a gift.

Lost Package:
If your order gets lost I will make an insurance claim. I must wait 21 days after ship date for domestic orders. Insurance claims on International orders can be made after 45 days from ship date. Once I start the process, it's up to the customer to sign a buyer affidavit and send it back to me. I can't get your money back without this form signed.
Refunds and Exchanges
Exchanges or returns are accepted within 10 days of receiving your purchase. The item must be returned in new and unused condition. Please contact me to request a refund. Refunds will be issued less shipping charges.

Care of Jewelry:

Cleaning: To clean the jewelry use a silver, polishing cloth. Some items may be cleaned in a liquid cleaner, but I do not recommend this. They aren't safe for all of the stones and can actually ruin the jewelry. Plus, a lot of the metal work in my jewelry is oxidized, sterling silver, which would also be effected. To clean the stones, just rinse with soap and water. If it has a druzy surface and overtime has collected dirt, use an old, soft tooth brush to gently scrub the stone.

Mineral and Wire Work Collections: Extra care must be taken with my wire work and mineral collections. I try to make my jewelry as durable as possible, but some of these pieces are more delicate or contain fragile stones that must be worn with extra care and are not everyday pieces. If the wire work starts to loosen over time I will make repairs or re wrap the stones, sometimes for no extra charge or at cost for the additional silver depending on how long you owned the piece. Some stones and minerals, if dropped on a hard surface could break. Annick Designs is not responsible for this, and in most cases can not replace the stone. Always store these pieces properly, like in a box. Do not wear in them in the shower or to bed. Don't hesitate to ask me about any particular piece of jewelry or stone and if it needs any special care.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom Orders: If you see any style of jewelry but want it in a different color or stone I may be able to make it for you. I can also work within your budget. For example if you love a piece that is made with sapphire, but can't afford it in sapphire, I can recreate the design with dark sapphire crystal or another stone that is not as precious as sapphire. I also love to custom make jewelry for weddings. Whether its for the bride or the bride's maids, I can make jewelry to match the dress and the occasion. I also offer discounts on purchase of multiple pieces.

Wholesale: I offer wholesale discounts on my jewelry. Please contact me through my business e-mail for my wholesale terms.
