About

It's Never Too Late to Find Your Bliss

In the Spring of 2011, my 10 year old twin boys were nagging me to help them make stuffed zombies out of some old clothes. They had been reading John Murphy's "Stupid Creatures". So after pushing them off for many months I dusted off an old Brother sewing machine that my sister had bought me at a garage sale. I had sewn a little when I was in grade school and had made some window treatments with my Mom but to say my sewing skills were basic at best is putting it lightly.

We completed our "creatures" and I quickly realized that I absolutely loved being behind a sewing machine. Although I hadn't been a life long sewer I knew I was good at researching techniques and building my skills on my own. I also love reading any type of instructions so this has helped speed up my learning curve immensely.

The amount I enjoyed sewing with my boys lead me to shopping around for purse and bag patterns. The first one I found was for the 241 Tote on Noodlehead.com. I followed the pattern and it turned out amazingly well. I was officially hooked and things have been growing at a staggering pace.

I have displayed at a number of local craft shows and have held some in-home purse parties. The feedback has been amazing and I love the entire process of choosing fabrics, patterns, and photographing all my items. My work experience has been in sales and marketing so I am able to use those skills in my own business and also have a creative outlet I never knew how much I needed.
