making part of the PAST ♥ part of the PRESENT
♥ Life is all about the journey…..the paths we choose, the people we encounter and the stories we create along the way. The world of antiques is all about what remains of another’s journey….mere objects that tell the individual histories of those who came before us. We have much to learn from antiquities left behind; not only can they fill our homes with décor rich in the beauty of times past, but they can also inspire & influence our own lives in the present, if we let their stories speak to us & change the course of our journey! In that respect, one cannot truly move forward without also looking behind. This is the essence of me, the "Antique Shop Girl," and my two shops….my work is a reverie into the history & memories of times gone by that has personal relevance.
♥ People have often told me that I was born in the wrong century because I have a propensity for all things old-fashioned. When I was 21 I fell in love with collecting primitive, early American antiques after being inspired by a friend's home décor. After I started avidly building my own collections, the dream of owning an antique shop someday quickly ensued. You can read how my wish eventually became a lovely reality here: http://antiqueshopgirl.wordpress.com/2013/05/01/here-it-comes-there-it-goes/ . Over the last 27 years I've greatly expanded my antique interests & horizons, always passionately endeavoring to make part of the past....part of my present. Running Antique Shop Girl on Etsy is one of the many ways in which I do so.
♥ Besides my Etsy shop, I also have a brick & mortar antique shop in New England which I run seasonally. Nestled inside a charming carriage shed I have an eclectic mix of vintage, antique & handmade items just as I do here in my Etsy store, including many salvaged & repurposed pieces....the ultimate way to recycle! It truly makes my heart happy knowing an original owner's belongings are still here....being used & loved, albeit a bit differently. My favorite part about playing shop owner is the wonderful people I meet & the amazing stories they share with me. I have absolutely found the same great experiences here on Etsy as I do there! I've made sure to share some photos from my physical shop in the slideshow above.
♥ Not only am I an antiques dealer, but I'm also a writer currently finishing a book of short stories. Recently I created a blog, "The Adventures of Antique Shop Girl," in order to share some of those tales with you, along with others. Simply click on the Shop Blog link on the right to check it out! For those who like a good provenance (story!) to accompany an antique, this is the blog for you! The blog is a series of antidotes & commentary on the often humorous, sometimes poignant, but always thought-provokingly fun experiences of a "girl" running a brick/mortar antique business in New England, as well as her online shops with Etsy. Join in the adventure!! Start following Antique Shop Girl today....

Owner, Antique Shop Girl & Pretty Agnes
I prefer my adventures be on the quiet, unbeaten path where my own unique story can slowly unfold....hopefully leaving remnants of my life for someone else to discover and enjoy someday, as I have done with those before me.

Frequently asked questions
For vintage and antique items, shipping is typically within 1-2 business days of payment. More often than not I ship the SAME DAY. Feel free to read my buyer reviews as many customers have commented on my speedy shipping & quality packaging. Custom orders may take additional time to ship & this will be determined by the seller & worked out with the buyer.
I do ship to FPO & AP addresses.
USPS First Class and/or Priority shipping, both with Delivery Confirmation, is used for most items. For larger items, breakables and items valued at $100 or more, insurance & signature confirmation is added. Due to size and/or weight, sometimes larger items are shipped via USPS Parcel Post.
Lost packages are a rare but unfortunate result of the busy world of online shopping & delivery. Extreme weather & holidays can also delay delivery of your package. Please let me know if your package has not arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Keep in mind that once an order has shipped, it is in the hands of the USPS and/or other mail carriers & becomes their responsibility to deliver it safely to you. It is important to immediately alert & work with your local carriers to locate & retrieve your order if it has not been delivered in a timely fashion.
Returns / Refunds
I am happy to answer any & all questions in advance to assure your confidence prior to purchasing an item. Please do not hesitate to convo me for additional information. I can supply extra photos or details prior to placing an order to insure you will be 100% satisfied with your purchase. Please note that RETURNS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. If you have any problems or questions after receiving your order, please convo me & I will try to resolve it to the best of my ability. A refund may be offered if an item is damaged beyond its AS IS condition during shipping. PHOTOS OF THE DAMAGED ITEM & PACKAGING ARE REQUIRED PRIOR TO REFUND. Refunds are dealt with on an individual basis.
Vintage & Antique Purchase Disclosure
With vintage & antique purchases, all items may have natural imperfections, dings, dents, scratches, odors and/or show wear & patina due to age & use over time & are sold AS IS. This is the charm & character of buying vintage or antique (versus "new") & does NOT equate to damage. Please note that when you make a purchase, you are agreeing to this disclosure. I attempt to describe all items as accurately as possible. Each of my listings contains information on the condition of the vintage or antique item listed. All photographs are considered part of that description, so check them carefully. I am happy to answer any & all questions in advance or to provide additional photos to assure your confidence prior to purchasing an item.
I definitely will ship items to Canada, Europe, Australia & New Zealand. Please just convo me BEFORE purchasing so I can give you a quote on shipping costs. It is easier for me to determine that on an individual basis, rather than for every item in my shop. Thank you!
Payment is expected at the time of purchase. Paypal & credit cards are the preferred method of payment. Please make sure you have a CONFIRMED ADDRESS with your Paypal account & are a verified member as this will expedite shipping. Items are shipped after confirmed address & verified payment are received.
