About

The sea inspires me. Let me share that with you.

As a Connecticut native, the seashore has always inspired me. I like to feature or incorporate elements of the sea into whatever creative project I'm enjoying, whether it's photography, jewelry-making, painting, or another project. It is my hope to pass on my fascination with the sea so that others may enjoy it, too.

I put a lot of time and thoughtful consideration into my jewelry designs so that buyers will enjoy a carefully crafted piece that is attractive and unique. Some of the things I like to feature in my creations include: gemstone beads, mother-of-pearl, abalone pieces and whole shells, freshwater pearls, and sea life beads and charms.

Payment
I accept payment through Etsy Direct Checkout and PayPal (which includes PayPal balance, Credit Cards, Debit/Checking, and Bill Me Later).

If you don't have a PayPal Account you can check out as a guest through PayPal using your Credit/Debit Card.

If payment is not received within 3 days from when you placed your order, I will have to cancel the sale and relist the item to be available for other shoppers.

Connecticut customers must pay 6.35% sales tax. NOTE: PayPal automatically adds the tax (in the final step before payment is submitted...so don't worry if you don't see a line item for tax right away).
Shipping
Shipping within the U.S. is by First Class mail, and includes delivery confirmation. Items will be shipped from Connecticut in the U.S. 1-3 days after payment is received, unless otherwise noted in communications between Windswept Creative Arts and Customer.

If you require expedited shipping, PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER so I can list an express shipping amount customized to your location. Otherwise, I will have to create--and you will have to purchase separately--a "shipping upgrade" package. Your custom upgrade listing will reflect the difference in price between the shipping cost in your original purchase, and the cost of the expedited shipping.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:

* * NOTE * * Due to I N C R E A S E S IN POSTAL RATES for SMALL parcels, international mailing costs are noticeably higher in my shop. Please consider this when making your purchase, especially for lower priced items. To give you an understanding, for me to send a small bubble envelope from New York to London weighing 2.5 ounces costs AT LEAST $9.00. (Yes, it's awful, and I am sorry.)

International shipments are by U.S. Postal Service First Class mail, but delivery confirmation is *NOT* available unless you request it, because it may add $5 or more to the price of shipping. Send a message to discuss any international shipping/insurance questions you may have.

*PLEASE NOTE* Customs duties are the responsibility of the buyer.
Refunds and Exchanges
Please contact me with any concerns about your purchase. I will replace/repair any defective parts of jewelry items. (See Additional Policies/FAQ below.) In the event that a refund is made, only the original price of the item and NOT the original shipping cost will be refunded.

Refunds on jewelry are available within 30 days from purchase, and on a case-by-case basis after that. Customer is responsible for shipping charges for any items returned to Windswept Creative Arts. I will pay the shipping cost of replacement items sent back to the customer.

DESTASH BEADING SUPPLIES, PHOTOGRAPHIC ENLARGEMENTS, AND PHOTO NOTECARDS ARE NOT RETURNABLE. I will be glad to offer a discount on a future purchase if you are dissatisfied with your destash, notecard, or photo purchase.
Additional policies and FAQs
Most jewelry items are made in standard sizes/lengths rather than custom fit, unless the item listing indicates that it is easily adjustable and/or available for custom sizing. In the unusual event that a repair or adjustment is required within a reasonable time from purchase, or after reasonable wear, Windswept Creative Arts will make every effort to ensure your satisfaction.

* * * CUSTOM JEWELRY ORDERS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THE INFO BELOW WILL BE VALID WHEN CUSTOM ORDERS RESUME. * * *

The procedure for custom jewelry orders is as follows:

Customer describes what (s)he wants. I, Cheryl, as owner of Windswept Creative Arts, will e-mail a proposal with materials list, images, total purchase price (including shipping costs), and estimated delivery time. When Customer agrees via e-mail to the final proposal, a Custom Order listing reserved in Customer's name will be posted in the shop. The item will be listed for the full price proposed, rather than simply for a pre-work deposit, due to Etsy's rules and seller protection policies in PayPal.

In an offline selling environment, a 50% up-front deposit would be Windswept's typical policy, with the customer paying the balance owed at the time the item is delivered. But in the Etsy venue, listings are required to be full-price. If the customer for some reason needs to be invoiced in installments for the full-price listed Etsy custom item, we can discuss it and come to an understanding about how it can be done by choosing "Other" in the Etsy payment screen.

Once payment is received, I will begin work, providing status updates as needed or as previously agreed upon. I will submit a photo of the finished design to Customer at the end of work, for final approval.

If Customer is not fully satisfied with the fit of the custom order, or for any other unforeseen and reasonable cause, Windswept Creative Arts agrees to one (1) adjustment. Customer is responsible for shipping charges to return item to Windswept, but Windswept will pay the shipping costs back to Customer after corrections are made.
