Arctangent Gemworks: Custom-Cut Gemstones and Jewelry

Odenton, Maryland

Announcement    These days, I am primarily a precision gemcutter. Unless otherwise noted, I have personally sourced and cut every stone in my shop. I probably have several finished stones that I haven't listed yet, too. Oops ;)

I have a fairly extensive stock of uncut stones and have an excellent network of rough sources, so if you have something in particular in mind, drop me a note!

I suppose I should mention that I have a certification from the US Faceters Guild. There, I just did.

Almost all of my work on Etsy has been custom, via the former Alchemy feature. Click this handy dandy link to see some of my past work: http://www.etsy.com/shop_sold.php?user_id=6908835.

Unless otherwise requested (i.e., someone wants me to make a silver septum tusk out of their dad's class ring), I use ARGENTIUM® Sterling Silver whenever possible. It's .930 sterling silver with more Germanium in the mix, which makes it extremely tarnish-resistant.

Also, I recycle all scrap I generate, refine it, and use it in my casting work. Feel free to send in your old precious metal with your request if you want me to incorporate it into my work. I'll also buy your old silver & gold outright if you just want to see it upcycled for the world to enjoy. I can also refine and realloy your gold, if you want to change its color (for example, you want your 18K white gold transformed into 14K rose gold)!

I'm a proud member of both the Patuxent Lapidary Guild (http://www.patuxentlapidary.org) and Metalsmiths in Action (http://metalsmithsinaction.50webs.com/).
