Handcrafted Items from Utqiaġvik (Barrow), Alaska
Paglagivsi! (Welcome everyone)
My name is Lisa Nanauq Adams and I am an Alaskan Inupiaq. I was raised here on the northernmost tip of Alaska in the largest village called Utqiaġik (Barrow). Here on the north slopes of Alaska we subsist and strive off the land and sea for our cultural subsistence foods throughout the year, and have been doing so for thousands of years. All parts of the animals are used for a variety of items ranging from cultural foods, traditional skin boats, sinew, ulu handles, tools, warm garments and maklaks made from a variety of furs.
I am married to an awesome Inupiaq hunter and we have three beautiful children. I enjoy creating a variety of handicrafts during my free time. Some items are a bit more modern with a sparkling twist.
I hope you enjoy my website and thank you for visiting. Come back often to see new listings.
Quyanaq! (Thank You)
