A Family of Makers

My wife, Ariel and I were inspired to begin something new together after a trip to Australia 7 years ago. We planned our trip to include Lightning Ridge, the heart of Black Opal country. We fell in love with opals and that very unique town. When we came back I started working with fused glass, upcycled bottles, and wiring gemstones. I then added Raku to my interests and began making beads and pottery. My primary interest has now moved to 3D printing. I make the jewelry displays for Ariel. The bracelet mandrel is my design and this has become our best seller. I am continuing to explant my interests in this area by making and designing vases, toys, and other items. Please see my website https://3dprint.direct/ and like my FB page. https://www.facebook.com/3dPrintDirect/.....Garth

I joined Garth a bit later but my interest is more in beading and leather. I started off with bead stringing but quickly realized my interest was in bead weaving. I am crazy about all the Czech beads that are being made and use them primarily in my work and also use Japanese seed beads. I love to see how my work has improved yearly and become more complex. One of the hardest things to designing is to select colors. One bead pattern might call for 8 types of beads so this is a challenge. I love to see how the colors work out as I am making the piece...Ariel

We were lucky to be able to go on the Jill Wiseman beading tour Sept 2017 to the Czech Republic with 50 like minded people. We were able to tour bead and glass factories, a beautiful glass museum, and of course tour the history of the country and enjoy the food. And we make many new friends. It was an experience we will never forget.

Our daughter, Arianna, took a beading glass with her mom and really took off with it. Some of her pieces of jewelry are on sale in our shop. She works with more traditional beading stitches but also with 2 hold beading. We often collaborate and she helps me if I need extra inventory for shows. We continue to grow in experience and hopefully, in our new business.
