Very comfortable piece. Shorter than the picture shows on me, more like a choker.

This piece is stunning not only as a black and piece, but also as a shades of gray piece -- which I absolutely love about it! I will get infinite use of this, as it is prettier than displayed.

About

Making Treasures

I've had a passion for all things colorful, sparkly, and shiny since early childhood. I made my first beaded necklace when I was 8 years old, and built my skill off and on throughout my entire life since then, friendship bracelets, beaded necklaces, earrings, and bracelets.

The first Renaissance Faire I ever attended with my fiance (see BuresBladeWorks) inspired me to get back into jewelry making full force and within months I had over 300 beaded pieces made, when plans to sell at the next Renaissance faire didn't pan out, I still kept at it for a while until my job became very demanding, then it had to take a back seat.

I had emergency heart surgery over Christmas in 2010, during my recovery time I fond myself getting inspired again to make necklaces that would hide my scar, I came up with designs for large semiprecious stone pendants on ribbons and suede strapping decorated with silver beads or colored wire. When I recently lost my day job due to a corporate bankrupcy, I turned to jewelry making again as not only a way to make a living, but also a way to stay busy and keep my mind and hands exercized since potential employers don't see too far past a pregnant belly.

A recent interview with a family-owned jewelry shop in town inspired me to go for a GIA certification and be the best, I eventually intend to. Until then, I work best with glass, natural stone, semiprecious stone like tigerseye and turquoise, seashells, wood, bone, and some plastic if its nice enough.

I've been into jewelry for my entire life, as young as 6 I was stringing beads on wire and making little trinkets for myself and for my friends and family. I love working with lots of colors and textures.
