it arrived just in the nick of time and was perfect for the big day. i removed 1 star because even though i was very careful and gentle with it, it is already starting to fray significantly along the sewn seams which makes me worried about it holding up well enough for my children to use someday.

Couture Vintage-Inspired Wedding Hankies and Bridal Accessories

My inspiration are the aristocratic life and the products which yesteryears Europeans used to make their life more aesthetic, and I use various craft techiques (sewing, embroidering, jewelry making) to create my items. I wanted a shop name that reflected all this and this is how Aristocrafts was born.

: : : H i s t o r y : : :

I learned how to sew and embroider from my mother and grandmothers when I was a child, and I inherited my creativity from my father and amazing grandfather.

Ever since I was a little girl I've had a soft spot for handkerchiefs and their delicate nature, but always regretted that with the modern days handkerchiefs seemed to become more plain and functional and lose their elaborate beauty. I also wasn't satisfied with the fact that if I wanted to have a beautiful hanky it had to be a vintage one, as I couldn't help but imagine how it was back in those days when the lady who owned the handkerchief opened it from a pretty new box and placed it in her purse for the first time, or carried it down the aisle on her wedding day for the happiest tears of her life.

So in 2011, inspired by a beautiful vintage handkerchief that I received as a gift, I decided to design and make a few handkerchiefs for the vintage-loving bride, and opened my shop on Etsy. My first handkerchief sold in less than two weeks after opening, and the rest is history.

Over the years, researching about antique eras and in old wedding magazines, I discovered numerous other vintage products that captured my attention, so I began expanding my product lines to lockets, pouches, hair accessories, garters, cuff links and pocket squares. My shop has evolved since those first bridal handkerchiefs and I can't wait to see what the future will bring!

I strive to create high-quality items that will become family heirlooms for generations to come. I feel overjoyed when customers write back to say that they'll keep their hankies for their daughters to carry on their wedding day. For this reason, I work only with the finest materials and pay very much attention to details and finishing touches. I want to give these new products the same quality that the vintage items we now treasure have, and, as the artisans from centuries ago, I don't mind if that means investing more time, more effort or redoing a piece until it's perfect.

I appreciate each and every one of the customers that have given me the opportunity to create something for their special day, and those who are considering it. Having just married a few years ago too, I fully understand how intense wedding planning may be, so I'll bend over backwards to assure that my customers will have a pleasant experience with my services and products. I love custom orders and it's always a pleasure to work together with my clients to design the product that they are looking for.
