Creating lasting expressions in silver, copper, and gemstone designs

As the daughter and granddaughter of gifted artisans, I was encouraged to pursue crafting and creative endeavors from the time I could first lift a crayon, and I developed a passion for creating that followed me through school and college, and from one end of the country to the other and back again.

After nearly a decade of exploring different jewelry making techniques, I opened my shop, Armillata Designs (Armillata is a Latin word meaning "adorned with a bracelet," after one of my other passions, classical archaeology) late in 2009 with vintage inspired bead, gemstone, and found item designs. At the same time, I began to look for ways to have greater creative control and freedom, and found it in metalsmithing. I learned to work in sterling silver, copper, and brass; soldering, shaping, and stone setting, and began creating my own original metal work components. In 2011, I established my own small studio.

Today, my work reflects the entire spectrum of my styles and influences, from beaded pieces with playful vintage references, to fine artisan sterling silver and gemstone jewelry. I enjoy the variety, the opportunity to connect with customers across a broad range of personal styles, and the flexibility to move between mediums depending on how inspiration is striking (or not) on any given day.

Thank you for shopping with Armillata Designs.

All jewelry offered here is carefully handcrafted with style, quality, and safety in mind.

Items offered by Armillata Designs are not intended for children, just grownups with really good taste.

As with all jewelry, a little care will go a long way towards ensuring that you have a beautiful adornment for years to come. Please refrain from cleaning metal pieces with harsh or abrasive cleaners, as these will remove patina and antiquing, and could scratch pearls and semiprecious stones. In addition, never submerge pieces with vintage rhinestones, as this can oxidize their backing and darken them. And always deck yourself out in your jewels after completing your hair and cosmetics to protect them from chemical buildup.

I always welcome inquiries about custom orders, bridal parties, etc.
