About

How our shop was born

One thing I have learned in life that continues to stress itself more and more as I grow is that we are all born with some type of righteous anger. What is it that makes you so blood boiling mad that you want to shout about it to the world? This is your calling. This is your purpose. For me, I am filled with frustration when someone who is incredibly resilient in overcoming so many obstacles in life gets buried so deep with hopelessness that they see no way out. I have experienced this countless times myself, where somewhere a ray of hope--whether friend, stranger, or critter, mends my severed wings and whispers, "keep on flying!"

Now for more info on the business that has been birthed from these trials. Not only has it birthed new hope inside of me, but it is a seed that will continually sprout life into the hearty soil of those who feel barren. Be the change you want to see in the world (Gandhi).

As I am sure many of you have noticed, my fiancee Mariah and I have been raising money over the last few months to help us fund our court appeal for joint custody of our beautiful princess. Losing primary custody of my daughter to to discrimination due to PTSD as a result of being a victim of human trafficking, as well as discrimination due to my sexual orientation--is by far one of the most difficult trials I have experience. But it is definitely not the first mountain I have faced that has seemed insurmountable.

Something insanely beautiful has come from these trials, however. CONNECTION. HOPE. RESTORED FAITH IN HUMANITY.AND THE ABILITY TO DREAM AGAIN--AND BEST OF ALL--ACCOMPLISH THOSE DREAMS.

I cannot begin to tell you the gratitude that is in my heart to so many people--friends, family, and STRANGERS who have partnered with me in helping in so many different ways. We have had people purchase items from our shop outside of the country, in many different states--people we don't even know, who heard about our court case through the selfless shares of so many people.

I was connected with a published author who writes (the oh so desired and lacking) Lesbian fiction, who reached out to her community and is in the process of putting together an auction for us.

We have had friends, family, and strangers donate hand-made items to our shop to be sold to raise money. I am so grateful.

Out of this has birthed a business that has so long been stirring in my heart and soul. I want to pay it forward. I want to continue this generosity that connects humans at a deeper, spiritual, and personal level.

"Arrayah Ray of Hope" is an online shop on Etsy. After a trial period, I will likely move it to it's own page, rather than on the Etsy site.

This month (through March) all profits made will go towards our court appeal. HOWEVER...as of April 1st, 50% of the funds will go to our very first scholarship recipient.

In order to be chosen as recipient, the applicant must submit a one-page essay, explaining who they are, the obstacles they are facing, and why they consider themselves to be resilient. They must also make a promise, that one day, when they are in the position, they will pay it forward and explain their own personal dream.

We are now taking applications, so if YOU or SOMEONE YOU KNOW is going through hell on earth but fights with courage and resilience and could use some help. Please tag them in this post.

Submissions may be emailed to: ArrayahRayofHope [!at] gmail.com

If you would like to donate a hand-made item or craft-feel free to email me. We would love for you to be a part of changing lives one person at a time!!

May you be filled with a new Ray of Hope today!
