The original purpose of this shop was to feature and sell the artwork of my 9 year old long coat german shepherd named Kaiserin. At age 7, Kaiserin developed a tumor on her ankle. We tried surgery to remove it and it grew back. We tried radiation and chemo. Nothing worked and the very aggressive tumor kept growing. On August 1, 2018, she had her rear right leg amputated to save her life. She lived an amazing 2 years on 3 legs. I always say that cancer took her leg but not her spirit. In the summer of 2019 she got her championship trick dog title, performing dozens of tricks on 3 legs. She opened doors and put a basketball in a hoop and so much more. One of the tricks she learnt was how to hold a paintbrush and touch it to a canvas. She seemed to really excel at this and ArtByTripawdKaiserin was soon born. A portion of the proceeds always went to the Tripawds Foundation to help other amputee pets like her.

Her cancer returned in the summer of 2020 and she passed in October. Her younger brother Schultz had also learnt to paint and he took over the project of raising money for tripawds to honor his sister's memory. In spring of 2021, Kaiserin's great niece Wilhelmina joined our family and seemed to also have inherited the family talent for painting. She produced her first piece of art at 4 months old. You can find artwork by both Schultz and Wilhelmina at our shop and, as of January 2021, a portion of the proceeds goes towards the Tripawds Cancer Care Package Program, a program that sends care package or fun and useful items to dogs and cats who have lost a limb to cancer.
