I developed a love for the arts at a very young age. Growing up, I loved drawing pictures of dragons and wizards. While all three of my brothers played hockey, I took private art lessons. Once it was time for me to go to college, pursuing a career in art made so much sense. In 2011, I left the small rural Michigan town I grew up in to attend Kendall College of Art and Design. I dabbled in everything, and couldn’t nail down a favorite medium. After a couple years, I decided to switch things up and get a biomedical science degree from Grand Valley State University in pursuit of becoming a dentist. It was shortly after graduating that I painted a picture of my adorable pug Sherman. After posting a picture of it to social media, I received a flooding of requests to paint other people's pets. My wonderful husband encouraged me to focus on these pet portraits and *BAM!* here we are years later, producing exquisite custom artwork. Through my pet portraits and working with local animal shelters and organizations, I've been able to use my artwork to help raise funds for animals in need. I am so grateful to see that my artwork can both bring people happiness and benefit great causes.
