An ever-evolving tale of hardship and art.

My name is Elizabeth Angelova.

I was born and I am still living in Bulgaria.
I would briefly describe myself as an eternal optimist and a dreamer.Everything around me is art, even myself.Art is my way of dealing with life's difficulties, and they were and are many.I've even considered writing a book,it could become a bestseller, you know.

My journey into the art world began when I mas a little girl.At that time,my biggest passion was painting, which helped me to live out atleast a decent childhood. Painting put me in my own zone of peace. It was difficult because I come from a divorced family with a lot of gambling and alcohol problems.I have memories that haunt me from when I was 2 years old, memories of drunkenness and gambling, obligations to mobsters, threats, objects breaking, scandals and so on... you can imagine.I started speaking and walking and as soon as I did,I started painting, just to escape the problems in my world.

My mother and I have been struggling for survival all of our lives.Despite all the difficulties, she managed to save both of us,to survive in a worthy manner and together help each other to improve as people and personalities.I am very grateful to her for that. When I say struggle for survival,I mean starvation, misery, moving from home to home, lack of money, lack of a father, lack of a family. It wasn't easy and it's not easy now.I appreciate that these difficulties and hardhip built me as an independent woman with principles.I can make decisions,I can handle myself in a hell of a lot of situations, even with an electric screwdriver :)

My first successfull paintings, strange as it may sound, appeared when I was still in 4th grade at the age of 10.To this day, they sit in frames in the hallway of my primary school.Since then, the my tale of art has begun in a hurry.I started participating in many competitions and winning them.I used my prizes and prize money to support my studies or buy drawing materials because at that time we couldn't afford them. I finished a textile working curiculum high school. There I discovered my passion for painting on textiles and learned many techniques.Again, I participated in many competitions and national competitions and successfully won almost all first places. This success along with the good work a couple of other girls from the school, lead to the increase of the reputation of our high school in the city.At the same time, I took up work from home because I did not have pocket money or any money for art materials.
Towards the end of high school, I started working part-time to save for the ball and also to pay for courses so I could apply to the National Art Academy.Everything for my Prom,of course, was completely handmade. My mother and I all the decorations, gifts snd so on,she even sewed my dress. This way we saved enough money so that I can invest in courses.I graduated from high school and entered the Nationsl Art Academy with honors on all my exams.

My bachelor's and master's degrees were successfully completed with a degree in industrial design. This specialty opened many doors for me later because I became a graphic designer for a large printing house and worked with some of the largest companies in Bulgaria.

While studying at the academy,I even worked night shifts for 12 hours.Sometimes I slept in the car or between lectures in a colleague's studio.Education was not very cheap, and the models and prints I had to make for the exhibition-examinations were expensive.

During my student years, something happened that turned my life 360 degrees,my partner and great love died in a car accident outside Bulgaria. Then I realized how short life is and it is literally a moment we should enjoy with full hands.I was determined to get out of all this crap and misery, and that's when my first idea for a personal logo and personal business began to emerge.I even used the idea for a semester assignment for graphic design at the academy.

After I graduated The National Art academy I worked several years in a printing house, then for a large company as a personal graphic designer. In the end I decided it was time to take matters into my own hands and work for myself.I set up a company and a shop for art and handmade products. At the moment I make everything myself.Logistics, accounting, graphic designs, social networks, painted textiles - T-shirts and sneakers, bags, dresses, handmade souvenirs and gifts, everything about business I do myself. It's damn hard, but I'm holding the front line for now.

In Bulgaria, unfortunately, art is not very valued, but I stubbornly want to teach people to appreciate it and to show them the satisfaction that art brings. That is why I want to spread my work outside Bulgaria, because I love to create and make people happy. If you like my stuff you can follow me on:
