Announcement    A garden with a patch of my glass flowers was just named one of the 2017 transformations of the year by This Old House. This is the link to an article about the yard, though the part about my flowers if pretty far down the page: https://www.thisoldhouse.com/ideas/magical-garden-buffalo

A garden writer for PennLive included a display of my flowers from a customer's garden in his article on the nation's biggest garden walk. Sloppy reporting though as he wrote of them being "glued" when almost all of them were drilled and bolted. https://www.pennlive.com/gardening/2018/08/clever_garden_ideas_from_ameri.html

A friend just forwarded me info that a picture of my flowers was just featured in the Calgary Herald newspaper in Canada. International acclaim (ha, ha). (2017)

(2016) A display of my glass flowers in a customer's garden was featured on the front page of the Home and Garden section of the Buffalo News today! Here's a link to a photo montage from the article: http://galleries.buffalonews.com/default.aspx?id=6568#/0

I am proud to say that the President Emeritus of the nation's largest and most popular city Garden Walk now has a large display of my creations in his amazing garden!

Flowers that tilt toward they sun as they do in nature.

I am a part-time mosaic artist and dedicated conservationist who hates to see beautiful-but-currently-out-of-fashion things going unloved, so I started repurposing them in a way that would suit current styles. As far as I can tell, my glass flowers are different from anyone else's in two important ways: 1.) I often saw glass pieces to use just the right bits. 2.) The mounting structure on the back of my flowers allows them to tilt up toward the sun like a natural flower...or face straight forward...whichever you choose. (If stem is under 4', tilting toward the sun makes the flowers more visible and more natural looking.)

I am an avid gardener, mostly perennials, so these "flowers" have brought lots of life and color to spots in my garden where my perennials are done for the season. I use translucent glass almost exclusively as I love the interplay of the light with the glass. Also, I don't want to starve the plants by blocking their light!

My newer flowers are drilled and attached with stainless steel hardware and a copper or cpvc pipe fitting in an attempt to help them last as as long as humanly possible. Some finishing bits are attached with bonding agents rated at over 4,000 lbs. per square inch.

For me, the glass flowers are as much about recycling as they are about making a garden look great. Minor wear is usually not even noticeable in the garden.

I am also in the process of downsizing (very slowly) in anticipation of moving to a smaller home some day, so you may see items from my personal art and glass collections on my Etsy page as well.

If you want to look at the books I've written, you can find them on Amazon, author name: Sue Knott. I have one Young Adult/New Adult novel and a few parodies. Thanks for visiting my shop!
