Art Threads Studio: Emily Gartner Designs

Indianapolis, Indiana

Announcement    It's June, a month to celebrate everyone!

I've chosen to highlight one of my favorite designer's, Stephen Sprouse. I was living in NYC in the 80's when I first discovered his fashion brand. Back then he was getting attention from those who lived uptown and downtown in New York, which was very rare. His clothing wasn't as widely distributed as some of the other bigger designers. So it's no surprise I favored his clothing, it really was wearable art.

My collection of scarves are a nod to his 80's neon color palette and punk art aesthetic. It's the perfect pop of color to a summer wardrobe. The mediums sized scarves can be folded as tops or worn as headwear and neckwear. I will be adding smaller and larger sizes in each print. Small scarves for wrist or purses....or a pocket square. Larger scarves can be used as clothing like sarongs or a halter dress. I am also up cycling jackets too, re-fashioning them into a punk art /graffiti style vibe! So please shop your closet if you're interested.

In addition, I will also offer to up cycle vintage wedding gowns into kimono jackets for my customers who are looking for a sentimental piece of wearable art. The fabric can be hand dyed in your favorite color and combined with one of my original, custom fabrics. Or a fabric can be designed related to the bride.

About ArtThreadsStudio

Sales 180
On Etsy since 2013

ALL season jackets are featured this season. Choose from a kimono style jacket or a reversible dress vest. Both with deep pockets & are wrinkle free.

My design aesthetic for my custom prints are created as large scale patterns. The patterns are laid out on the garment to feature the wearable art print in the best way. I also love bright and bold color palettes, along with a few neutrals.
