About ArtanisHome

Not finding the products I wanted on the shelf, I decided to make them myself!

I first got the idea that there was something missing from the shelves many years ago. I was a young homeowner with a flair for decorating, and I had several products in my bathroom with mixed up bottle colors that just didn't go with my decor. So on I went on a shopping trip to find something that didn't exist - a line of nice containers that could replace my skin and hair product bottles, and not just that basic dispenser that you might find paired only with a toothbrush holder at your local Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Surely something out there could work for me? But alas, after several shopping stops, I gave up. So those products, even the ones that I used every day, just ended up out of sight in the cabinet. Or sometimes when I was lazy, I'd just leave those mixed up bottles on the counter where they'd be accessible, even though they seriously disturbed my feng shui.

Fast-forward about 15 years later. I'd recently moved into my first home-of-our-own with my husband of 3 years, and I'm in a decorating frenzy. An old, familiar idea popped into my head -- "wouldn't it be great to have some really nice colored bottles in my bathroom? Too bad they don't make them." And then I had the thought that every wife and mother has thought to herself: "I guess I'll have to do it myself." It was time to put the entrepreneurial spirit that has been bubbling beneath the surface into action. At first, it was R&D. What colors would people like? What bottle types? How can I paint some bottles in a way that looks good, but the paint won't peel off or dissolve from the products that are put in it? Paint, paint, paint. I tried it all. All, that is, that I could find at my local craft store and home improvement store. I'd wait for those 2 precious hours each weekday otherwise known as my toddler's nap time. As soon as she was "out", I was out....out the door and setting up my spray paints and tent. I was pleased to find that those Krylon spray paints did a decent job, but what to use as a protective coat? And what label would I use that would be durable enough? I researched online and found a great label-printing system good enough for the shower - thermal transfer printing. Check! But then I also found many coating company sales representatives that all scratched their heads as to what product would work for my application. The best I could find was Polycrylic. But just when I was realizing that 4 hours on weekends was not going to yield very many bottles any time soon, I found it....a local company that had a formula for coating my bottles with durable, flawless coatings in one step. And I wouldn't need the ventilator or the backyard DIY!
So here we are! I'm very pleased to offer my line of glossy, color-coated, custom-labeled bottles and jars that will make your bathroom organized, unified, and beautiful. I'm very excited to offer something that is really missing from the shelves and to spare people from having to do DIY and still end up with something that's not quite the luxurious bath that they desire. Problem solved for many of you out there who are like me, who would rather have their bathroom products on their counter and looking organized and beautiful, rather than hiding everything away in the cabinet. You're welcome.

Frequently asked questions
Can I get your powder coated bottles and jars in a color other than white, beige, or black?

Our current stock includes only those three colors. An extremely wide variety of colors and finishes can be created including woodgrain, marbling, and metallic, however any color other than what we have in stock will require a $250 coating setup fee (in addition to the price of the bottles). For an order of 200+ bottles, we will absorb the cost of the setup fee.

Wholesale availability

We would love to work with retailers, and would welcome a discussion on making these products (with or without customization) available on the shelf.

Are your coated bottles environmentally friendly?

"Powder coating is an environmentally friendly process.

Other processes, such as wet painting, require various preparations that can adversely impact the environment. Harmful fumes and carcinogens can fill the air once the carrier solvents evaporate.

Powder coating, on the other hand, applies fine grade compounds to electrically charged objects and heats them to melt the compounds.

There are no harmful solvents used, so negligible, if any, amounts of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are released into the atmosphere. In essence, the powder is virtually pollution-free, with close to 100% efficiency of particle transfer." per bottlecoatings.com

Custom and personalized orders

Our customization is built into the listings. But we're open to more! We'd love for you to have your bottles and jars exactly the way you'd design them for yourself, and would love to hear your ideas! A different font, a decorative border, different placement for the labels? Let us know what you'd like, and we'd be happy to implement it for you! Depending on the customization, we may charge a small, agreed upon fee. If you'd simply like a different combination of bottles and jars than I offer in my listings, I will happily set up a listing for you, and will include a discount for multiple.

It appears you only have a few of the items I want in stock. When and how can I get more?

We likely have more in stock than are listed, as we allocate them between different selling venues and different listings, i.e. individuals and sets. We are also launching with only a few hundred bottles, but we plan to make many more available as we grow. Send us a line if you're looking for more than we have listed, and we'll let you know if we can fulfill the order.

Can I have my company's name and/or logo on my labels?

Yes, you can! ...Provided you own it or have the permission to use it and grant us permission to use the trademark, logo or a derivative of it on your products. Terms will be written out in your custom listing. Purchase implies acceptance of the terms.

Are your labels waterproof?

Yes, all label types we offer --thermal transfer (customized), and hotel amenity bottles which can have thermal transfer, plastic BOPP, or vinyl, are waterproof and chemical resistant. They are meant to be used in wet environments. Your satisfaction is guaranteed on all of our products.

Do you have disc caps for squeezing instead of pumps?

We happen have some black ones for all plastic bottles except the squat white HDPE and the 32 oz bottles. For those, we have white ones. They are available upon request. However, because these bottles are meant to be reusable for years, I do not recommend them, as squeezing the bottles increases the potential for warping the bottles and reducing the longevity of the bottles. They may also cause the labels to separate from the bottles. The silkscreened bottles may be the best candidate for the black disc tops. But note that the silkscreen's longevity could likewise be lessened by repeated squeezing/rubbing on the printed area.

Can I provide my own design for my labels?

Yes, however, I may still require an extra fee. From experience, customer-supplied label designs have never actually been print-ready requiring a bit of back-and-forth time. They require special formatting, require time for me to ensure that the labels will properly fit the bottles they will be applied to, extra set-up time to scale, test, and adjust for my printer or the production partner's printer, etc. If you create color labels that are accurate to the half inch (for example 3.5" wide by 4" high) and are in CMYK with rich black set to CMYK 60, 40, 40, 100, I will provide an e-mail address for you to send them to me for my approval. If they will not require extra work on my part, no design fee will be requested for your order.
