Hello! Welcome to my art shop! 💝
My name is Roberta Schmidt, but my nickname is Lucy, a name my Dad gave me when I was a little girl. I am an artist, photographer, poet, gardener, hummer of tunes, lover of castles …and chocolate. I love to paint in bold and bright colors!
I am currently creating art that sparks my love of color and imagination. Acrylic is my medium of choice. At the moment, I am working on vibrant abstracts, with bold colors and intricate brushstrokes. These new pieces are created from my deep love of color, inspiration from my garden, fueled with my love of artists of the past, like van Gogh, Matisse, and Monet, and the joyous freedom to create from my heart.

a little girl artist grows up
Welcome to ArtcyLucy! Lucy has been my nickname since I was a little girl. I loved art making as a child, and found it again as an adult! I absolutely LOVE being an artist and creating modernly vintage art is a joy. What is modernly vintage art??? Modern art with a vintage flair!
I draw my inspiration for painting, from anything to everything. I love using vintage photographs or fashion images, as a starting point for my portraits. Artists like Matisse has shown me how to use bold colors in my portraits. Monet has taught me that making an impression of what I see, is what's more important than realism in my art. And Vincent van Gogh has taught me about making deliberate brush strokes! Oh, and there are so many more artists, past and present, who have helped me on this path of creativity!
It is truly a joy to create stories with my art, which makes me feel emotionally connected to a piece. And I hope that comes across when sharing my art with you.
