Cleveland is a wonderful painting. I had been looking at it for months before I finally bought it. I can honestly say I was not in the least disappointed. The colors are vibrant and true to the photo, and Cleveland (as he will be forever named) has this powerful life force, which is what drew me to the painting the first time I saw it. Ox is very quick to respond to questions, and will go out of his way to work with you. The painting was delivered within five days of purchase, and that was with one government holiday thrown in!

The Ox makes things.

Hello. I am The Ox. I use a pseudonym only to separate my art from the other work I do. I chose that animal because I believe in working hard, remaining humble and believing in strength. I sign all of my work with the Arabic symbol for cattle – a design that would later invert and become the first letter of the Western Alphabet.

I want only to make things that did not exist before I made them. I give inspiration no more responsibility than that. I create with enthusiasm and gratitude and welcome any statement of meaning or significance from the viewer. I hope everyone enjoys the finished products as I plow ahead with intent and without pretense. Finally, I always find something to like about the work of other artists.

I work on canvas, wood or metal. I work in two and three dimensions. So far, I work with oil, acrylic, watercolor, ink, pencil, latex, oil pastel, adhesives, Flex Seal and spray foam. In an era when it seems “it’s all been done,” I hunt for something as of yet undone and unseen.

The art of Ox is available for sale, display, and commission. In addition to painting, I work on murals and installations on demand. If you have any questions, please contact me here.
