Announcement   Welcome to ArtrageousWearables! I create original designs on t-shirts using a variety of process including discharging, dyeing, hand painting and screen printing. My designs often include a variety of processes on one shirt. If you see a design you like but need a different size, please contact me for a custom order.

I have added a new Section called "LoveMESale" for items that have just not felt your love. These items do not have any flaws, but just need a loving home. They have been reduced and include a variety of sizes, designs and color. If the shirt has a flaw, you will find that in the "Oops, I'm only Human" section. Those items have been reduced even more. I will point out the flaw and have a photo of it, if possible. If you buy more that 2 shirts or items, if you contact me I can reduce the shipping cost on the third or fourth item.

I thought that I would explain a little more about discharging because from questions I can tell there is a lot of confusion. The process of discharging involves taking out color. So I start with mostly black t-shirts and I take out some of the color before I go back and redye the t-shirt with procion dyes. It is not a silk screen process where once I make the screen I can just keep printing the same design over and over. It is really a one at a time t-shirt process. I start by drawing my idea or design onto freezer paper, next I cut out all of the parts and pieces and iron them onto the black t-shirt. Check out the black t-shirt with the white freezer paper design, raven and branches on the front page of my shop. The parts that are black when you see a t-shirt posted are where the freezer paper protected the t-shirt from the discharge process. After discharging the t-shirt which is done in a variety of ways, I peel off the freezer paper, and through it away. The process ruins the freezer paper so each time I make even the same idea I have to start from the beginning. Anyway after I peel off the freezer paper, I then wash the t-shirt. Now I am ready to add some color back into the shirt. After the dyed part cures for 24 plus hours I am ready to wash the t-shirt a couple of times to take out the excess dyes. Now I am ready to post it for your viewing pleasure. So as you can see lots of love goes into each item.'o)

This next message is to all of you lovely ladies that drop by and take a look at the woman's t-shirts. I find that different brands of woman's shirts really do vary quite a bit, so check out the measurements in each listing and then compare your with favorite shirt. Do not limit yourself to just looking for your usual size, you may be surprised. Finally I do special orders if you need a particular size and I can usually come pretty close or I can change up the colors. So please contact me if you need something special. Hope this helps.

About

uNiQue Wearable ART..... shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and scarves created with a variety of process including printing, discharging and dyeing.

My daughter and I started our Etsy Shop in 2011. Mckenzie took on the task of setting it all up. She will be truly missed as she is leaving for China this month to teach English.

I have a background in art and have dabble in many medias, but for now I am using a variety of processes to create uNIQue shirts. I was working on my Masters in Art Education when my professor gave me this 2 page article on discharging fabric. My assignment was a wall hanging, but fabric was expensive so I bought t-shirts to tweak my discharging skill. I guess the rest is history. But that wasn't the end.... like any art process it evolves and grows. I discharged t-shirts, taught classes and then 10 years later I was volunteering at the YMCA of the Rockies where I was once more introduced to tie dyeing which changed everything. I starting dyeing my discharged t-shirts. What a difference that made in how I created my discharged t-shirts, etc.

My interest and love for nature, gardening, birds and wildlife is present in most of my designs. I love working in my yard, planting flowers and trees at the moment. Presently I am keeping an eye on the mallards. They were pecking on the door of my studio this morning.

They say life is a journey..... and I believe art enriches that journey.

McKenzie, my daughter, had the tech skills to get our shop up and running. For a short time she sold jewelry. Recently she moved to China to teach English. She will be missed, but I am excited that she is following her dream.

Basically this is a one woman show as McKenzie left for China recently. I create my wearable art using very low tech methods. Custom orders are a big part of our business, so please contact me if you have an idea.

All items are shipped from my studio in Missouri within 3 days. Customs orders usually take up to 2 weeks. In the US I always use Priority Mail which includes insurance and tracking.

WOW! Went down to the Post Office today to send my first package to Europe since they raised the shipping cost....shock. To ship one man's XL t-shirt was $5.00 more than last year. So yes, rates are going up. International shipping does not include either insurance or tracking unless requested for an additional cost. I cannot be responsible for loss or damage during shipment, but if there is a problem, I will try my best to solve it. If you want to add insurance and/or tracking, please contact me before you make the purchase. I will find you a quote and get back to you! International customers are responsible for any custom fees or duties upon delivery that your country imposes. All items will be marked "merchandise", not gifts. Any questions, just ask.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you, my customers to be happy and excited with your purchase so if for some reason you are not, please contact me within 5 days. I will refund the cost of the merchandise or exchange your item. Your order must be returned within 14 days in mint condition. As I am a small business, you are responsible for the return shipping cost. Returning an item is time consuming and costly so please check the measurements posted for each t-shirt.....brands can vary a lot in size.....do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. All sales on custom orders are final.
